Neal was cut by the Bills last Wednesday, and he'll now join Buffalo teammate Jordan Poyer in Miami's secondary. The Jacksonville State product has primarily been a special-teams player since entering the league in 2018 and will likely earn a similar role with his new squad.

Neal had three total tackles and one pass breakup before exiting during the second half. The Bills are winning in blowout fashion midway through the fourth quarter, so the 26-year-old could be held out regardless of the results of the evaluation.

Neal just went on the list last Thursday at the opening of camp, so he quickly cleared all the NFL's COVID-19-related protocols. He'll now begin trying to land a spot with the Bills as a reserve defensive back, and it's worth noting there's one less person in front of him after E.J. Neal's teammates, Micah Hyde (groin) and Rafael Bush (shoulder), are both listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans.
The Bills did call up Dean Marlowe from the practice squad Saturday, but if both Hyde and Bush have to sit this one out -- neither practiced all week -- both Neal and Marlowe should be forced into extra action on defense. Neal isn't on the IDP radar yet, but he did add a nice bullet point on his resume in sacking Aaron Rodgers last week and it'll be interesting to see what he does with potentially more playing time.
