Steelers' Justin Fields: Gets one carry in Week 13
Rotowire
Fields played two of the Steelers' 69 offensive snaps and carried once for seven yards in Sunday's 44-38 win over the Bengals.
For the third week in a row, the Steelers carved out a small package of plays for Fields, who presents a more dynamic rushing threat than starter Russell Wilson. Fields has now reeled off gains of seven, eight, nine and 30 yards on four of his six carries over the past three games, so expect the Steelers to continue sprinkling him into the game plan over the final five contests of the regular season.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Plays seven snaps in primetime
Rotowire
Fields failed to complete his lone pass attempt while rushing three times for 26 yards during Thursday's 24-19 loss to the Browns.
Fields was out with the offense for three snaps during last week's win over the Ravens, and his snap count increased slightly Thursday, with most of his action coming in the second half, when the snow made passing conditions difficult. He's been efficient during his limited action over the last two games, averaging 8.6 yards per carry on five rushing attempts, but he remains firmly in the No. 2 role behind Russell Wilson and is unlikely to have much of a fantasy impact as long as he continues to see minimal snaps.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Healthy after bye week
Rotowire
Fields (hamstring) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Fields was inactive in Week 8 against the Giants, but he's back healthy following Pittsburgh's Week 9 bye. With Russell Wilson having since taken over as the Steelers' starting quarterback while guiding Pittsburgh to two wins in as many outings, Fields will return to the top backup role Sunday against the Commanders. Third-string quarterback Kyle Allen is likely to be inactive for Week 10.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Out Monday, but emergency third QB
Rotowire
Fields (hamstring) is listed as inactive Monday against the Giants and will serve as the Steelers' emergency third quarterback, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
Fields was added to Pittsburgh's Week 8 injury report Sunday as questionable due to a hamstring issue. Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Fields' health concern is a minor one, but the Steelers will exercise caution with him with a Week 9 bye on the docket. Russell Wilson will handle starting duties for a second consecutive contest Monday, while Kyle Allen steps into the backup role.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Will test hamstring pre-game
Rotowire
Fields (hamstring) will test out his hamstring during pre-game warmups before the Steelers make a decision on his status for Monday's contest against the Giants, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Fields, who officially is listed as questionable for Monday Night Football, looks like he'll be a game-time decision for Week 8. If Fields is unable to go, Pittsburgh would be forced to turn to Kyle Allen as Russell Wilson's backup versus New York. Rapoport notes that Fields' injury isn't considered overly severe, but with the Steelers slated for a Week 10 bye, the team could opt for caution. Official word on Fields' status will arrive no later than 90 minutes prior to Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Questionable for Monday's game
Rotowire
The Steelers added Fields to the injury report with a hamstring issue and are listing him as questionable for Monday's game against the Giants.
With Fields' Week 8 status now in question, the Steelers may have to turn to Kyle Allen to serve as Russell Wilson's backup Monday. According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the Steelers had planned to have some packages available for Fields, but after Fields tweaked his hamstring in practice, that plan will likely be scrapped even if he's ultimately active as Wilson's backup Monday.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Won't start, should have role Week 7
Rotowire
Fields isn't in line to start Sunday's game against the Jets, but the Steelers are expected to have a "package of plays" available for him as the backup to Russell Wilson, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Head coach Mike Tomlin hasn't officially named a starting quarterback for Week 7, but Rapoport relays that Wilson will get the nod Sunday for what will be his Steelers debut. Wilson was named the starter coming out of the preseason but missed the Steelers' first five games of the season with a calf injury, then served as Fields' backup Week 6. However, Wilson took first-team reps and led the quarterback rotation in individual drills for each practice this week, setting the stage for him to play Sunday while Fields heads to the bench. However, after guiding Pittsburgh to a 4-2 record while completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 6.9 yards per attempt and accounting for 10 touchdowns over his six starts, Fields doesn't look like he'll disappear from the game plan entirely. The extent of his role Sunday isn't fully known, but look for any Fields packages that the Steelers use to take advantage of the signal-caller's rushing ability.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Could move to backup role
Rotowire
Head coach Mike Tomlin revealed Friday that he's made a decision on the Steelers' starting quarterback between Fields and Russell Wilson for Sunday's game versus the Jets but won't announce who is getting the call, Brook Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Shortly after Tomlin's media session, wideout George Pickens may have let slip that Wilson will be under center Sunday, noting he and the quarterback have been "getting on the same page after practice, throwing more than usual because this is his first start." All signs point to that coming to pass, as Wilson handled first-team reps this week and led the team's signal-callers in individual drills, while Fields was second in the rotation. Fields started the first six contests of the campaign while Wilson recovered from a lingering calf injury, but the latter now seems set up for his first nod as a member of the Steelers. During his stint as the starter, Fields had a 4-2 record, completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns and one interception and recorded 55 carries for 231 yards and five more scores.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Might lose starting gig
Rotowire
Fields could move into a backup role for Sunday's game against the Jets with Russell Wilson set to receive first-team reps in practice Wednesday through Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Just minutes after Pelissero published his report, head coach Mike Tomlin met with the media for his weekly press conference and said that Wilson was merely "in consideration" for the Week 7 start, per Dale Lolley of the Steelers' official site. Tomlin added that both quarterbacks will get reps in practice this week before a decision is made on a starter, and he even floated the possibility of both Wilson and Fields seeing snaps against the Jets, according to Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com. If Pelissero's reporting is correct, fantasy managers who had been relying on Fields should prepare to use another option in Week 7. Wilson was named the starter coming out of the preseason, but after he aggravated a calf injury in practice, Fields stepped into the top job and led Pittsburgh to a 4-2 record while completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 6.9 yards per attempt and a 5:1 TD:INT, to go with 231 yards and five scores on the ground. Now that Wilson has returned to full health, however, he appears likely to reclaim the starting role. Given how well Fields performed over the first six games, Wilson would likely need a strong showing against the Jets on Sunday to ensure he sticks atop the depth chart.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Saves day with two rushing scores
Rotowire
Fields completed 14 of 24 passes for 145 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's 32-13 win over the Raiders. He carried 11 times for 59 yards and two scores.
Fields had another ugly day through the air, as he averaged 6.0 yards per attempt or fewer for the third time in six games and for the second consecutive matchup. He did manage two completions of at least 20 yards, with his longest completion going to George Pickens for 31 yards late in the fourth quarter. While he was plagued by a couple of drops from Pickens during the contest, Fields also had an interception wiped off the board by a roughing the passer call just before halftime. Regardless of the assessment of his work as a passer, Fields got things done from a fantasy perspective thanks to his work on the ground -- highlighted by scores of three and seven yards. There will likely be ongoing speculation about Fields' status as the starter in Pittsburgh now that Russell Wilson is healthy, though it's difficult to imagine the Steelers making a change while having a 4-2 record and being tied for first in the AFC North.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Backed up by Wilson
Rotowire
Fields is slated to be backed up by Russell Wilson on Sunday against the Raiders, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
With Wilson active for the first time this season, in this case as the team's No. 2 signal-caller, Kyle Allen will serve as Pittsburgh's emergency quarterback Sunday. Thus far this season, Fields has led the team to a 3-2 record, but it remains to be seen how strong his grip on the starting job is now that Wilson has moved past his calf injury.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Week 6 starter over healthy Wilson
Rotowire
Fields is in line to start Sunday's game against the Raiders, while coach Mike Tomlin said Friday that Russell Wilson is expected to be active in a backup role, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Fields is slated to make a sixth straight start to begin the season, but after Wilson was inactive for the first five games due to a calf injury, the veteran quarterback is expected to be available following a full week of practice. With Pittsburgh having dropped consecutive games after a 3-0 start, Fields could be in danger of losing the starting job to Wilson soon if the former Bears quarterback is unable to right the ship.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Opening Week 6 prep as starter
Rotowire
Fields will begin Week 6 prep Wednesday as the Steelers' first-team quarterback, while Russell Wilson (calf) works with the second team in his first full practice since Week 1, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
After being named the Steelers' starter coming out of the preseason, Wilson aggravated a calf injury during Week 1 prep and he has yet to play this season. Fields has since guided the team to a 3-2 record while completing 67.6 percent of his passes for 7.1 yards per attempt and a 5:1 TD:INT to go with 172 yards and three scores on the ground. Though Fields has generally performed well, coach Mike Tomlin stopped short of declaring that he will retain the starting role for Sunday's game in Las Vegas, especially with the 25-year-old coming off his least efficient outing of the season in a Week 5 loss to Dallas. Tomlin indicated that the Steelers will wait and see how Wilson comes out of his first full practice in more than a month before potentially mixing him in with the first team Thursday and/or Friday. The Steelers will presumably lock in a Week 6 starter following Friday's practice, though Tomlin may not disclose to the media whether Fields or Wilson will get the nod.

Steelers' Justin Fields: QBs to Start
Rotowire
DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) is out in Week 5, and Micah Parsons (ankle) could also miss this game for the Cowboys. That's great news for Fields, who is coming off his best outing of the season in Week 4 at Indianapolis with 33.9 Fantasy points, and he also scored 20.4 points against the Chargers in Week 3. He topped 30 pass attempts in both of those outings, and I hope the Steelers continue to allow him to make plays. And he has three rushing touchdowns in his past two games. I'll buy into Fields as a No. 1 Fantasy quarterback in Week 5, especially if Parsons is out for Dallas. And Derek Carr and Lamar Jackson have already scored at least 25 Fantasy points against the Cowboys, with each of those quarterbacks rushing for a touchdown against Dallas.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Offense opens up
Rotowire
Fields completed 22 of 34 passes for 312 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Colts. He added 10 rushes for 55 yards and two additional touchdowns.
Fields got off to a shaky start as the Steelers went scoreless for their first four offensive possessions, leading to a 17-3 deficit at halftime. That forced Pittsburgh into opening up the offense, leading to Fields throwing for 192 yards and rushing for 41 in the final two quarters. He did make a few key mistakes, highlighted by taking a sack that led to a lost fumble in the middle of the third quarter. On the other hand, he nearly led a substantial comeback and showed his dynamic playmaking ability as both a rusher and passer with five completions of 20 or more yards. He still has yet to officially be named the Steelers' starting quarterback, but it would come as a surprise if he isn't under center for a Week 5 matchup against the Cowboys.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Sleeper QBs
Rotowire
Fields went over 20 Fantasy points for the first time this season in Week 3 against the Chargers when he scored 20.4 points with 245 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception, along with six rushing yards and a touchdown. Hopefully, this is the start of him producing at a higher level instead of just being a game manager, and this is a great matchup against the Colts. Caleb Williams just had 363 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions against Indianapolis in Week 3. Malik Willis ran for 41 yards against the Colts in Week 2. And C.J. Stroud had 234 passing yards and two touchdowns against this defense in Week 1. Fields should be considered a low-end starter in all leagues.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Passing and rushing TD in third win
Rotowire
Fields completed 25 of 32 passes for 245 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chargers. He added six rushing attempts for six yards and a touchdown.
Fields made a third consecutive start with Russell Wilson (calf) inactive once again. After Pittsburgh's offense didn't cross midfield in the first quarter, Fields scored the Steelers' second offensive touchdown of the season with a five-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Fields threw a third-quarter interception on a deflected pass but bounced back with a 55-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Austin in the fourth quarter, which helped the Steelers improve to 3-0 despite the team's modest offensive production. Coach Mike Tomlin said he won't name a starter moving forward until Wilson's healthy, but it will be tough to justify benching Fields with the team undefeated heading into Week 4 against the Colts.

Steelers' Justin Fields: QBs to Sit
Rotowire
We keep waiting for that big game from Fields, but he's playing under control and doing exactly what is asked of him. As a result, Fields is averaging just 12.7 Fantasy points per game in two outings against Atlanta and Denver. It's hard to expect a dramatic shift in production for Fields against the Chargers as both teams will likely take a conservative approach, and the expected total for this matchup is 35.5, which is the lowest of the week. I would only start Fields in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues in Week 3.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Limited by conservative offense
Rotowire
Fields completed 13 of 20 passes for 117 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 13-6 win over the Broncos. He added eight rushes for 27 yards.
Fields concluded an effective 12-play, 78-yard drive early in the first quarter with a five-yard touchdown pass to Darnell Washington. On the possession, Fields went 3-for-3 for 32 yards while chipping in 17 yards on the ground. The Steelers relied heavily on their ground game and defense to come away with a victory from there, though he did have an impressive 51-yard completion to George Pickens called back for holding. The Steelers have implemented a conservative game plan for both of Fields' two starts to begin the season, in turn limiting his fantasy production.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Trending toward another start
Rotowire
Fields appears to be trending toward making his second consecutive start Sunday against the Broncos, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Per Varley, Fields, who started last weekend against the Falcons, has been working as though he'll be the starter again this week, while fellow QB Russell Wilson continues to deal with a calf injury and officially is listed as questionable for Sunday's game. For his part, when addressing Wilson's Week 2 status, coach Mike Tomlin said Friday, "Regarding Russell's availability, I'm going to list him as questionable. So, obviously if his availability is questionable, then starting is less so," while adding, "But we've been in that mindset all week. Like I've said, we've been focused on getting Justin ready to play and we'll continue in that mindset as we push forward toward game time." In any case, look for added context regarding the Steelers' QB plans to arrive closer to Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
