Slauson announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
Slauson was a starter at right guard prior to fracturing a bone in his back Week 5 against the Patriots. The soon-to-be 33-year-old will retire having started all 113 career games in which he's appeared.

Colts' Matt Slauson: Sustains back injury in Week 5
Slauson (back) sustained a back injury in the Colts' game against the Patriots in Week 5, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.
Slauson was placed on injured reserve Monday with an injury that was originally undisclosed. The Colts released that information Wednesday, saying that Slauson had cracked two vertebrae early in the third quarter of their Week 5 matchup with the Patriots.

Colts' Matt Slauson: Lands on IR
Slauson (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve by the Colts on Monday, Andrew Walker of the team's official site reports.
The Colts will have to locate a new right guard following Slauson's designation to IR. The team has not yet released the details of his injury and it's unclear if they plan to do so. In a corresponding move, Indianapolis brought in guard Evan Boehm to add some depth along the offensive line.

Slauson (biceps) was participating in position and special teams drills Tuesday, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
Slauson was placed on injured reserve by the Chargers in October after undergoing surgery on his torn biceps and signed a contract with the Colts in March. The 32-year-old participating at this point in the offseason is a good indication he avoided major setbacks in his recovery process.

Slauson (biceps) signed a contract with the Colts on Tuesday, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
Slauson spent the past two seasons with the Chargers, starting in seven games at left guard before suffering a season-ending biceps injury in 2017. The veteran also has experience at center and should compete for a starting role once completely healthy as the Colts look to revamp an offensive line that allowed a league-high 56 sacks last year.
