Wydermyer spent time with the Bills, Patriots and Colts last season after going undrafted out of Texas A&M. The 22-year-old spent all of his time on the practice squad and never found his way to the 53-man roster, but he had re-upped with Indianapolis on a reserve/future deal in January. The Colts signed Wydermyer to a reserve/future contract Monday, per the team's official site.
Wydermyer, an undrafted first-year tight end, originally signed with the Bills back in the spring of 2022, but he was later let go by the organization during training camp and snagged by New England shortly after. The Patriots then cut the 255-pounder in September, but Wydermyer eventually found his new home with the Colts' practice squad in October. Although the 22-year-old failed to record a snap across the 2022-23 campaign, he's now in line to compete for a roster spot in Indianapolis throughout the offseason and into next year's training camp.

Wydermyer was let go from New England's practice squad in mid-September after failing to make the team's final roster this preseason. The rookie tight end previously signed with the Bills in May but was just released by the team this past Sunday. Wydermyer gives the Patriots added preseason tight-end depth, with Hunter Henry having missed Wednesday's practice with an undisclosed injury, However, Wydermyer will have his work cut out for him in order to land a roster spot, with Devin Asiasi, Dalton Keene and Matt Sokol also in the depth mix behind Henry and Jonnu Smith.
