  • Chiefs' Jaaron Hayek: Goes on IR

    Hayek (shoulder) reverted to the Chiefs' injured reserve Thursday after going unclaimed off waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Hayek signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Villanova in May. He has been held out of practices and preseason games since sustaining a shoulder injury in early August. Hayek will now be forced to sit out for the entire 2024 season unless he is waived with an injury settlement by Kansas City.

    The Chiefs waived Hayek (shoulder) with an injury designation Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Hayek has been nursing a shoulder injury since the beginning of August, and the Chiefs have now decided to part ways with the Villanova product. If Hayek clears waivers, he'll revert to Kansas City's injured reserve list and miss all of the 2024 campaign unless the two parties reach an injury settlement.
