Brkic (hamstring) worked out for Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Brkic was waived from injured reserve by the Packers with an injury settlement at the end of September, but he appears to have cleared the hamstring issue and is looking for the next step in his career. The undrafted kicker out of Oklahoma spent time with the Vikings and Packers during his first professional season, but he's still looking to make his NFL debut.

Gabe Brkic: Waived by Green Bay
Rotowire
The Packers waived Brkic (hamstring) on Sunday.
Brkic reportedly tweaked his hamstring during Friday's pregame warmups but still opted to kick in the preseason opener. He made all three of his extra-point tries, but he badly misfired on his first field-goal attempt as a professional. With Mason Crosby (knee) still on the PUP list following offseason surgery, the Packers No. 2 spot remains up for grabs. In a corresponding move, Green Bay signed USFL kicker Ramiz Ahmed, who figures to operate as the primary place kicker during Week 2 off the preseason.

Packers' Gabe Brkic: Dealing with hamstring injury
Rotowire
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Sunday that Brkic tweaked his hamstring during Friday's pregame warmups, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Despite the tweak, Brkic still opted to kick Friday and made all three of his extra-point tries, but he badly misfired on his first field-goal attempt as a professional. With Mason Crosby (knee) still on the PUP list following offseason surgery, the Packers have had a revolving door at kicker during training camp. Green Bay most recently signed Ramiz Ahmed to operate as the emergency kicker in case Brkic's hamstring issue flares up again.

Packers' Gabe Brkic: Misses lone field-goal attempt
Rotowire
Brkic missed a 32-yard field-goal attempt and made all three of his point-after-touchdown tries in Friday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Brkic was true on his three extra-point tries, but he badly misfired on his first field goal attempt as a professional, and from not too far out. With Mason Crosby (knee) on the PUP list, Brkic is the only healthy kicker on the Packers' roster. However, Crosby will almost certainly handle the kicking duties for the Packers when he recovers, and Brkic is not a lock to fill in if Crosby remains out when the regular season gets underway.

Gabe Brkic: Waived by Minnesota
Rotowire
The Vikings waived Brkic on Friday.
Brkic signed with the Vikings in May as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma and was expected to provide competition to the veteran Greg Joseph. After Brkic's release, Joseph is the only kicker on Minnesota's roster, but it's possible the Vikings opt to bring in another competitor for training camp.
