Andrew Whitaker: Let go by Seattle
The Seahawks waived Whitaker (knee) on Thursday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Whitaker has yet to appear in an NFL game after spending last season on the Seahawks' injured reserve list, and Seattle has now decided to part ways with the 25-year-old. It seems that Whitaker is past his hamstring issue, and he's free to sign elsewhere after being dropped.

Seahawks' Andrew Whitaker: Lands on injured reserve
Whitaker (knee) reverted to IR on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Whitaker will now be forced to miss the 2023 campaign unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team. However, considering he will need surgery to repair his patellar tendon, it's possible he'd be unable to play this season, settlement or not.

Whitaker suffered a patellar tendon injury during a team scrimmage Friday, which will need surgery to be repaired. Upon clearing waivers, the Washington product will revert to injured reserve.

Whitaker was carted off the field Saturday and is dealing with a significant injury. He wasn't expected to have a significant role in the Seahawks defense this year and will now shift his focus toward his lengthy recovery process.
