  • Daewood Davis: Dropped by Carolina

The Panthers waived Davis (thigh) with an injury designation Wednesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports. Davis was picked up by the Panthers in June after impressing with a 41-446-5 receiving line with the UFL's Memphis Showboats earlier in the spring, but Carolina has now decided to part ways with the 25-year-old. If Davis clears waivers, he could revert to the Panthers' injured reserve and miss all of 2024 unless the two parties agree to an injury settlement.

  • Panthers' Daewood Davis: Sidelined with thigh injury

Davis, who sustained a thigh injury in practice Monday, is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks, Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer reports. Davis joined the Panthers in June after playing with the UFL's Memphis Showboats this past spring, finishing with 41 catches for 446 yards and five touchdowns in 10 games. The injury may keep Davis out of the Panthers' first preseason game against the Patriots on August 8, but he could be available against the Jets on August 17.

  • Panthers' Daewood Davis: Dealing with thigh issue

Davis went down with a thigh injury at Monday's practice, Sheena Quick of Fox Sports reports. The undrafted wide receiver out of Western Kentucky, who posted an impressive 41-446-5 line with the UFL's Memphis Showboats this past spring, signed with Carolina earlier this summer after missing all of 2023 with a concussion, and it now appears that he's dealing with another injury. There's no word on the severity of Davis' injury at the moment, but this could definitely hurt the 25-year-old's chances of making Carolina's 53-man roster.

  • Panthers' Daewood Davis: Picked up by Carolina

Davis (concussion) has agreed to terms on a contract with the Panthers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Davis missed the entire 2023 season after suffering a concussion in the Dolphins' final preseason game and subsequently being placed on injured reserve. With his rookie season over prematurely, the Western Kentucky product will now look to make an impression in Carolina. However, he will have his work cut out for him as one of 13 wide receivers currently on the roster.

  • Daewood Davis: Let go with injury settlement

The Dolphins waived Davis (concussion) with an injury settlement Tuesday. Davis sustained a concussion on a big hit during Miami's preseason finale Saturday, and he had to be placed on a backboard and carted off the field before being taken to a local hospital. The undrafted wideout from Western Kentucky was then released from the hospital Sunday morning after it was determined that he had "movement in all extremities," and he was quickly diagnosed with a concussion. Davis will now hit waivers before becoming an unrestricted free agent, should he go unclaimed.
