  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Misses one kick in Week 16

Pineiro made his lone field-goal attempt while converting on three of his four extra-point tries in Sunday's 36-30 overtime win over the Cardinals. The 29-year-old converted on four of his five kicks in Sunday's overtime win, missing an extra point in the second quarter. Pineiro has now missed an extra point in two of his last three games after starting the season a perfect 20-for-20 through Week 13. His next opportunity to score will come in Week 17, when the Panthers travel to Tampa Bay.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Perfect in Week 15

Pineiro made both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 30-14 loss to the Cowboys. The veteran kicker wasn't asked to do much in Sunday's loss, converting on both of his point-after tries while not attempting a field goal all game. Pineiro has now made 23 of his 24 extra-point attempts (95.83 percent) over 14 games this season. His next opportunity to score will come in Week 16, when the Panthers host the Cardinals.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Misses again in Week 14

Pineiro converted his one field-goal attempt while making one of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Eagles. Pineiro has now missed a kick in each of the Panthers' last two games after having missed just one in the previous 11 games. The 29-year-old has made 20 of his 23 field-goal attempts and 21 of his 22 extra-point tries, with his first missed point-after coming in Week 14. He'll aim to rebound in Week 15 when the Panthers host the Cowboys.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Rough outing in loss

Pineiro converted on three of his five field-goal attempts while making both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to the Buccaneers. Pineiro hadn't missed a kick since the Panthers' Week 5 loss to the Bears before missing field goals of 38 and 45 yards in the first half of Sunday's overtime loss. The third-year Panther has now converted on 86.4 percent of his field-goal attempts (19 of 22) this season while remaining perfect on point-after tries (20 of 20). He'll look to bounce back from a poor Week 13 performance next Sunday when the Eagles host the Panthers.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Drills five kicks in Week 12

Pineiro converted on all four of his field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Chiefs. Pineiro has now made 16 of his 17 field-goal tries on the season, with his lone miss occurring in the Week 5 loss to the Bears. The 29-year-old has also remained perfect on extra points through 12 weeks, converting on all 18 of his attempts. Pineiro's next opportunity to score for the Panthers will come in Week 13, when the Buccaneers visit Carolina.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Cleared to kick Sunday

Pineiro (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports. Carolina had listed Pineiro as questionable after he was limited in practice Thursday due to the left knee injury before sitting out Friday's session entirely, but the team's decision not to add another kicker to the roster before Saturday's deadline for Week 12 transactions suggested his availability was never in any real jeopardy. Though he's the most accurate kicker in NFL history with a career 89.4 percent success rate on field-goal attempts, Pineiro remains a low-end fantasy option while his scoring opportunities are limited due to being attached to a poor Carolina offense.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Added to injury report

Pineiro was a limited participant in Thursday's practice due to a left knee injury. Pineiro didn't appear on Carolina's initial Week 12 injury report issued Wednesday, so he may have tweaked his knee at some point during Thursday's practice. The Panthers will check back on Pineiro's condition Friday before deciding whether he'll carry a designation into Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Though a poor Carolina offense hasn't presented him with many scoring opportunities this season, Pineiro has generally come through when called upon, as he's knocked down 12 of 13 field-goal attempts and all 17 of his extra-point tries through 10 games.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Makes lone kick vs. Commanders

Pineiro converted on his lone extra-point attempt in Sunday's 40-7 loss to the Commanders. Pineiro saw just one opportunity to kick in Sunday's blowout loss, and this could become a recurring theme with the Panthers' recent offensive struggles. The 29-year-old has now made all 11 of his point-after tries and nine of his 10 field-goal attempts through Carolina's first seven games. He's expected to continue being reliable; however, it's unclear how many kicking opportunities he'll have in Week 8, when the Panthers travel to Denver.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Drills four kicks in Week 6

Pineiro converted on both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Falcons. The 29-year-old continues to produce for the Panthers, having made nine of his 10 field-goal attempts and all 10 of his extra-point tries across the team's first six games. Pineiro's next opportunity to kick will come in Week 7 when the Panthers match up against the Commanders.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Misses first kick in Week 5

Pineiro converted one of his two field-goal attempts while making his only extra-point try in Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Bears. Pineiro had not missed a kick through the Panthers' first four contests, but that streak came to an end in Sunday's loss. The 29-year-old missed a 45-yard field-goal attempt wide left just before halftime, which would have cut Chicago's lead to 17 points. Pineiro responded by making a chip-shot 27-yard field goal in the third quarter, and he'll look to continue producing in Week 6 when the Panthers face the Falcons.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Drills another kick Sunday

Pineiro made one field goal during Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Chargers. Pineiro remains perfect through Week 2, as the 29-year-old kicker split the uprights on a 38-yard field-goal attempt in the third quarter of Sunday's loss. Carolina's offensive struggles limited Pineiro to just that one try in Week 2, which could be a recurring theme as the Panthers travel to take on the Raiders in Week 3.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Avoids injury report entirely

Pineiro (hamstring) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report. Pineiro dealt with hamstring soreness late in the preseason, but he's now back to full health and is practicing without any limitations. Over the past two seasons Pineiro has converted just over 90 percent of both his field-goal attempts and extra-point tries with Carolina, but the Panthers offense may struggle to provide him ample scoring opportunities Sunday in a tough road matchup against the Saints.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Should be fine for Week 1

The Panthers don't plan to add another kicker while Pineiro deals with hamstring soreness, Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340 reports. It's a strong indicator that Pineiro is expected to be fine for Week 1 at New Orleans despite missing the second half of Carolina's final preseason game. He said he could've kicked if needed during the exhibition.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Questionable to return

Pineiro has a hamstring injury and is questionable to return to Saturday's preseason game against the Bills, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports. Pineiro is the only kicker on Carolina's roster after the team waived undrafted rookie Harrison Mevis on Aug. 11. Pineiro signed a two-year, $4.1-million deal with the team before last season and went on to make 25 of 29 field-goal attempts and 17 of 20 PAT tries.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Set to reprise starting job

The Panthers waived undrafted rookie Harrison Mevis on Sunday, leaving Pineiro as the only kicker on the team's roster, Joe Person of The Athletic reports. While Pineiro was not really expected to lose his job to Mevis this offseason, the latter's departure should clear up any questions about this position for Carolina heading into the regular season. The veteran missed the final two games of the 2023 campaign with a hamstring injury, but he performed well over his 15 regular-season appearances, converting 25 of 29 field-goal attempts and 17 of 20 PATs. Pineiro is entering the final season of a two-year, $4.1 million deal with the Panthers.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Attending minicamp

Pineiro (hamstring) is participating in practice Tuesday at June minicamp, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. Pineiro, who missed the final two games of Carolina's 2023 season due to a hamstring injury and has remained away from offseason activities while seeking a new contract, is now present at team facilities and appears healthy. Undrafted rookie Harrison Mevis is also present as an option to take reps in mandatory minicamp. Pineiro is currently heading into the final season of his two-year, $4.1 million contract, and he converted 25 of 29 field-goal attempts across 15 games last year.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Injury to end season

Pineiro (hamstring) made 25 of 29 field-goal attempts and 17 of 20 extra-point tries en route to 92 points in 15 games during the regular season. Pineiro missed Carolina's last two games with a hamstring injury. Despite the Panthers' abysmal offense often restricting his scoring opportunities, Pineiro still clinched both of the team's victories with field goals as time expired. Although there is a potential out in Pineiro's contract for a new front office to evaluate this offseason, the veteran is currently slated to return to Carolina for the 2024 campaign.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Sitting out in Week 18

Pineiro (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports. An active Pineiro didn't fulfill his typical placekicking duties for the Panthers last Sunday at Jacksonville after hurting his hamstring in pregame warmups. The injury kept him out of all drills during Week 18 prep, and an ensuing doubtful designation unsurprisingly led to inactive status this Sunday. Pineiro thus will yield his gig to Matthew Wright in the season finale.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Doubtful for season finale

Pineiro (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. Pineiro failed to practice in any capacity throughout the week and is unlikely to play in Sunday's season finale. Matthew Wright will be elevated from the practice squad to replace Pineiro if Carolina's usual kicker is inactive for the contest, as expected. Pineiro has made 25 of 29 field-goal attempts this season.

  • Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Not practicing yet

Pineiro (hamstring) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports. Pineiro wasn't able to handle his usual placekicking duties this past Sunday at Jacksonville after experiencing some tightness in his right hamstring in pregame warmups. He's yet to practice this week, and if the Panthers end up ruling him out for Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers, the team has an insurance policy in Matthew Wright on the practice squad.
