Cardinals' Andrew Wingard: Inks one-year deal with Cardinals
Arizona signed Wingard to a one-year, $3 million contract Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.comreports.
Wingard emerged as a starting option at safety for the Jaguars last year, recording 84 tackles (45 solo), nine passes defensed (including one interception) and one fumble recovery across 16 regular-season appearances, but with the Cardinals in 2026 he stands to operate in a backup capacity behind Dadrion Taylor-Demerson and Budda Baker. If Wingard outperforms expectations on his 'prove-it' deal with Arizona, however, he'll stand to draw increased demand as a free agent in 2027.

Jaguars' Andrew Wingard: Production surges in 2025
Wingard compiled 84 tackles (45 solo), nine passes defensed (including one interception) and one fumble recovery across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025.
Wingard put together his most productive season since 2021 as Jacksonville's starting free safety. The veteran played an every-down role before missing Week 14 due to a concussion, and in three of four appearances since, his snap count has hovered closer to the 70-percent mark. Wingard will continue handling a key role in Jacksonville's secondary during the playoffs, beginning with Sunday's wild-card-round matchup against the Bills. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Jaguars' Andrew Wingard: Won't play vs. Indianapolis
Wingard (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Colts, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Wingard was unable to practice during Week 14 prep while in the league's concussion protocol, and the veteran safety will end up missing his first game of the regular season as a result. Rookie sixth-rounder Rayuan Lane is the top candidate to start at safety alongside Antonio Johnson in Wingard's absence.

Wingard (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.
Wingard started and logged an 86 percent defensive snap share this past Sunday versus Tennessee, but he appears to have suffered a concussion along the way. He'll need to clear the NFL's concussion protocol in order to suit up against the Colts in Week 14. If Wingard isn't able to play, Rayuan Lane may be asked to step into a starting role.

Wingard recorded five tackles (three solo) with one pass defensed in Sunday's 35-6 win over the Chargers.
