Thomas has struggled to stay healthy and subsequently prove his worth in Los Angeles. At 26 years old, there's a chance another team will consider bringing in Thompson at the end of the season for a closer look.

Rams' Carlos Thompson: Lands on IR
Thompson (undisclosed) cleared waivers Tuesday and reverted to the Rams' injured reserve list.
Thompson was waived earlier this week with an injury designation, but it's unclear what exactly is plaguing the linebacker. In any case, the Mississippi product will spend the remainder of the 2018 season on IR unless he and the Rams agree to an injury settlement.

Rams' Carlos Thompson: Promoted from practice squad
The Rams promoted Thompson to their 53-man roster Saturday.
With Connor Barwin (arm) out Sunday the Rams called up Thompson to their active roster in order to improve depth at outside linebacker. He is likely to back up Samson Ebukam in the team's Week 13 matchup versus the Cardinals.
