Aaron Ripkowski: Waived by Chiefs
Ripkowski was waived by the Chiefs on Friday per the NFL's official transaction log.
Ripkowski spent his first three seasons in Green Bay before failing to find a new team in 2018. He finally found a landing spot in Kansas City, where he signed a future/reserve contract in January. However, he will now be forced again to find a new opportunity.

Chiefs' Aaron Ripkowski: Signs future/reserve contract
Ripkowski signed a future/reserve contract with the Chiefs on Thursday according to the NFL's official transaction report.
Ripkowski will get to spend the offseason with Kansas City after sitting out the year following his release from the Packers at the end of the preseason. Anthony Sherman, who had an impressive performance in the Pro Bowl, is slated to enter free agency this offseason, which could leave the door open for Ripkowski to get on the 53-man roster.

Aaron Ripkowski: Waived by Packers
The Packers waived Ripkowski on Saturday, Michael Cohen of The Athletic Wisconsin reports.
Ripkowski has been an asset as a fullback and on special teams as a Packer, but a roster squeeze has apparently forced the hand of general manager Brian Gutekunst. Perhaps the two sides have a "wink-wink" deal and Ripkowski will remain in Green Bay after cuts are finalized and players placed on IR, but a fullback-needy team could inquire about his services. Where he lands in the coming days will be telling.

Packers' Aaron Ripkowski: Totals just 12 touches in 2017
Ripkowski finished the 2017 season with five carries for 13 yards and seven receptions for 39 yards in 16 games.
Ripkowski accumulated 196 yards and three touchdowns on 43 touches the season before, so it seemed he would be more involved in the offense in 2017 than he actually was. However, the Packers got better usage out of their running backs than they did the year before, so Ripkowski was limited almost exclusively to blocking duty and special teams work. His reputation made him a first alternate for this year's Pro Bowl, but his 12 touches in 2017 mean he will head into 2018 without any realistic fantasy value.

Packers' Aaron Ripkowski: Limited to blocking duty Week 13
Ripkowski did not record a carry nor a catch in Sunday's 26-20 overtime victory versus the Buccaneers.
Ripkowski had at least one touch in four straight games entering Sunday's contest, but with Jamaal Williams dominating the backfield work and Aaron Jones returning in action, Ripkowski was back in a fullback-only role for Week 13. As long as Williams and Jones remain healthy, expect Ripkowski to continue working solely as a fullback the rest of the way.

Packers' Aaron Ripkowski: De facto No. 2 running back in Week 12
Ripkowski had one carry for four yards in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.
Ripkowski did not do anything notable from a fantasy perspective, but he was the only running back besides Jamaal Williams to see the field Sunday night, as fellow ball carrier Devante Mays served only as insurance. Ripkowski could work in a similar role in Week 13 if Ty Montgomery (ribs) remains sidelined, but in that scenario, Williams would still figure to dominate the backfield touches like he did against the Steelers.

Packers' Aaron Ripkowski: Records three touches in Week 10
Ripkowski had two carries for three yards and one reception for 12 yards in Sunday's victory over the Bears.
Ripkowski played more snaps than he regularly does Sunday thanks to injuries to running backs Ty Montgomery (ribs) and Aaron Jones (knee), and he finished with a season high for touches. Ripkowski could get more involved again in Week 11 if either or both running backs previously listed are unable to play, but in that scenario he would still play only a complementary role, and mainly be used on passing downs and/or in short-yardage situations.

Packers' Aaron Ripkowski: Hauls in one catch Monday
Ripkowski posted nine yards on one reception Monday against the Lions.
The third-year pro only has one rush in the red zone this season, and he hasn't been deployed like the Packers' prior FB John Kuhn. Ripkowski matched a season-low three offensive snaps Monday, and he should stay off fantasy radars until he can log red-zone touches.

Packers' Aaron Ripkowski: Records two touches Thursday
Ripkowski had one carry for four yards and one reception for six yards in Thursday's victory over the Bears.
Ripkowski had just one touch through the Packers' first three games, but he doubled that total Thursday after running backs Ty Montgomery (ribs) and Jamaal Williams (knee) left the game. The Packers figure to let Aaron Jones and/or Devante Mays handle the bulk of the running back duties as long as Montgomery and Williams are out, but Ripkowski could get more involved again like he was in 2016, when he totaled 43 touches over the team's final 13 games.

Packers' Aaron Ripkowski: Limited to blocking duty in Week 1
Ripkowski played 22 snaps on offense in Sunday's victory over the Seahawks, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.
Ripkowski averaged nearly three touches per game in 2016, but he was limited to blocking duty in Week 1 and did not record a carry nor a reception. He did not record his first touch last year until Week 5, so he could still get involved in the offense down the road.

Packers' Aaron Ripkowski: Set to start at fullback
Ripkowski is listed as the Packers' starting fullback for Week 1.
Ripkowski was pushed by fellow fullback Joe Kerridge during training camp, but Kerridge landed on injured reserve with a calf injury and the Packers don't have any other fullbacks on the roster, so Ripkowski will have the job all to himself to open the regular season. Ripkowski totaled 43 touches a year ago, and he again figures to be more involved in the offense than the average fullback.

Packers' Aaron Ripkowski: Sees first preseason action
Ripkowski played six snaps in Saturday's preseason victory over the Redskins, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.
Ripkowski was limited to just one special teams snap in the Packers' preseason opener, but he saw his first action on offense Saturday. He will head into 2017 as the Packers' top fullback, and figures to play a more active role in the game plan than most at his position after totaling 196 yards and three scores on 43 touches a year ago.
