Raiders' Darron Lee: Lands on IR
The Raiders placed Lee (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday, Josh Dubow of the Associated Press reports.
Lee played 12-plus games in his first four seasons, but after appearing in just two contests in 2020, he was looking for a fresh start by signing with Las Vegas. The 2016 first-round pick's season is now over unless he comes to an injury settlement with the team, while Divine Deablo and Javin White will now compete for a backup role behind Cory Littleton.

Darron Lee: Finishes suspension
Lee was reinstated by the NFL on Tuesday after completing his four-game suspension, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The 25-year-old received the four-game ban in early September for undisclosed reasons, but he's now available to play should he sign with a team. Lee was a first-round pick by the Jets in 2016 and started 36 games over his first three seasons, but he's been unable to find a new team after working in a reserve capacity with the Chiefs last season.

Darron Lee: Dealt four-game suspension
Lee received a four-game suspension from the NFL on Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Yates' report doesn't provide an explanation behind Lee's suspension, but barring a successful appeal, the 25-year-old linebacker won't be able to play with a team until Week 5. A 2016 first-round pick by the Jets, Lee spent the 2019 campaign in Kansas City and notched 31 tackles in 16 games before becoming a free agent during the offseason.

Chiefs' Darron Lee: Just 31 tackles in 2019
Lee notched 31 tackles (22 solo) across 16 regular-season games in 2019.
Lee averaged 80 tackles per season for the Jets from 2016-18, but he was relegated to a depth role in his inaugural season with the Chiefs, logging a career-low 161 defensive snaps despite playing a full 16-game slate for the first time. He looks set for a similar reserve role in 2020.

Chiefs' Darron Lee: Gearing up against Packers
Lee (illness) will play in Sunday's game against the Packers, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Lee battled a sickness through the practice week, but he's ready for this prime-time matchup. The fourth-year pro's snap share can be flaky, as he works mainly as a reserve behind Anthony Hitchens and Damien Wilson while also picking up ample playing time on special teams. Lee has 23 tackles over seven games in this role.

Chiefs' Darron Lee: Feeling ill
Lee (illness) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.
This shouldn't be an issue as long as Lee can get back onto the field by Friday's practice. Regardless, the team's starting linebackers are fully healthy, so his absence would only hurt the depth, in which Dorian O'Daniel stands to be the main beneficiary if Lee is out for Sunday's game against the Packers.

Chiefs' Darron Lee: Dealing with chest injury
Lee exited Saturday's preseason matchup with San Francisco due to a chest injury and is questionable to return.
Lee was originally traded to the Chiefs from the Jets in May for a sixth-round pick in 2020. It's unclear how serious the injury is or how much it could hinder the 24-year-old from trying to earn a rotational role in Kansas City's linebacking corps.

Chiefs' Darron Lee: Traded to Kansas City
The Jets agreed to trade Lee to the Chiefs on Wednesday in exchange for a 2020 sixth-round pick, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
After the Jets were unwilling to pick up Lee's fifth-year option for 2020 earlier in the offseason, the team and interim general manager/head coach Adam Gase chose to ship the linebacker elsewhere. The 2016 first-round pick was left without a starting job after the Jets signed C.J. Mosley to a massive contract back in March. Lee is still on track to be a free agent next spring, unless the Chiefs are interested in discussing an extension before the start of the new league year. For now, Lee is expected battle for snaps in a linebacking core that already features Anthony Hitchens and Reggie Ragland.

Jets' Darron Lee: Fifth-year option declined
The Jets did not pick up Lee's fifth-year option in time for Friday's deadline, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
By letting the deadline pass without picking up the option, the Jets ensured that Lee would become a free agent during 2020. The 2016 first-round pick will now be playing in a contract season while trying to improve on the career-low solo-tackle total (43) he generated last season.
