What to Know

After two games on the road, the New England Patriots are heading back home. The Patriots and the Buffalo Bills will face off in an AFC East battle at 1 p.m. ET Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Both teams have allowed few points on average (New England 16.21, Buffalo 17.36), so any points scored will be well earned.

New England came up short against the Indianapolis Colts last week, falling 27-17. New England was down 20 to nothing at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. One thing working slightly against New England was the run-of-the-mill game of their most targeted running back, RB Rhamondre Stevenson, who rushed for 36 yards on ten carries.

The Bills decided to play defense against itself last week, but the squad still came out ahead despite their 81 penalty yards. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 win over the Carolina Panthers. Buffalo can attribute much of their success to WR Gabriel Davis, who caught five passes for two TDs and 85 yards, and QB Josh Allen, who passed for three TDs and 210 yards on 34 attempts. Allen ended up with a passer rating of 131.

The Patriots are now 9-5 while Buffalo sits at 8-6. A couple defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: New England ranks first in the NFL when it comes to touchdowns allowed, with only 23 on the season. As for Buffalo, they come into the game boasting the fewest passing touchdowns allowed in the league at 11.
