Lewis cranked out a pre Super Bowl speech for Madden. (YouTube.com) |
Ray Lewis is nearly as famous for his inspirational speeches as he is for his linebacking. At the beginning of the football year, he provided one to anyone who played Madden 13 by supplying the introduction for the latest rendition of the popular football game. (It generated well over 1 million views on EA Sports' account.)
And now Lewis, with one game left in his career and a shot at a second Lombardi Trophy on Sunday, has recorded a second video for EA in which he talks about hoisting the Lombardi Trophy and retiring following the game.
"I actually heard rumors that maybe he lost a step," Lewis says in the speech. "But I remain more focused now and more hungry now than I ever have been. There's something else I have to get done. Touched glory once before. And I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to make sure that when my legacy is done they look back and say that this man gave everything he had every time he stepped on the field.
"To one day hoist that Lombardi Trophy and look in the eyes of men and ask the question, 'Did you give me everything you had?' I will finish the race."
It never gets old for me with Lewis' pregame speeches. And this one, like most of the other ones, is probably going to make me do a little bit more energetically whatever it is I'm doing for the next 15 minutes.
