Cruz and his mother just after the Super Bowl. (US Presswire)
If you spend much time on Giants receiver Victor Cruz’s Facebook page, you’ll see plenty of non-football photos of him (and a variety of other pretty people).

He’s on the red carpet for a magazine launch, he’s on the cover of Latina magazine, he’s posing for pictures with the Today Show’s Hoda Kotb, he’s presenting a Grammy award, he’s basking in the applause at a Rutgers basketball game.

Basically in this offseason after a fantastic second season in the NFL, complete with a won Super Bowl ring, Cruz is pretty much everywhere. He documents much of it for his fan’s enjoyment.

But today, Cruz is featuring perhaps the most important woman in his life onhis Facebook page. That would be his mother, the one who made all of this possible for Cruz.

The photo you see on the right is what occurred soon after New York beat the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. According to Cruz’s PR team, his mom was the first person to whom he spoke and thanked after the game was over, and as you can see, it was an emotional, meaningful moment.

So, even with all the awards and accolades and photo availability, it’s clear Cruz still has a bit of mama’s boy in him.

"My mom was the first person I thanked after we won the Super Bowl, because we made that journey together and to me, every day is Mother’s Day,” Cruz wrote on his page. “Enjoy today with your family and remember how important mom is!"
