It was an ignominious start for the Redskins on Sunday, the early highlight being Josh Norman literally trying to neutralize Odell Beckham by carrying him out of bounds.
The Giants led 21-9 late in the second quarter, but Jay Gruden's halftime talk must have taken because the team took a (brief) 23-21 lead early in the third quarter after Jamison Crowder did this on 3rd and 15:

Jamison Crowder is GONE! #HTTR#WASvsNYGhttps://t.co/hu3pAHOTbT
By the way, that was Kirk Cousins' 50th career NFL touchdown, which is perfectly embodied by this one play: A short pass where the receiver does the heavy lifting.
Cousins, who struggled in his first two games, has had another up-and-down day. In fact, this was such a demoralizing way to end the first half that fans took to Twitter during the intermission to call for Colt McCoy.
