A full week has passed in the Jaguars’ training camp. The main story continues to revolve around those who are not in camp as opposed to the players who did report.
Here’s a look at who’s in and who’s out of camp as of Saturday:
Who's here: Six of the team’s seven draft picks made it into camp on time, and they have all been competing for a spot on the roster. Second-round pick DE Andre Branch has been especially impressive in his first training camp. TE Zach Miller and DT Terrance Knighton are among the key players who began camp on the PUP but have since returned to field. WR Laurent Robinson, the Jaguars’ prized free-agent acquisition, had a concussion scare, but after passing a series of tests Thursday, he returned to action Friday.
Who's not: RB Maurice Jones-Drew and WR Justin Blackmon are still holding out. Jones-Drew has a well-documented contract dispute going on and doesn't appear ready to budge anytime soon. Negotiations with Blackmon, the team's first-round pick, were complicated when he recently pleaded guilty to a DUI charge. He is now the last unsigned 2012 draft pick in the NFL. DE Austen Lane (ankle), LB Daryl Smith (groin), G Will Rackley (ankle) and LB Clint Session (concussion) are among the key players not practicing due to injury. CB Aaron Ross is away for the weekend to see his wife, sprinter Sanya Richards-Ross, compete in the London Olympics. He is expected to return to practice by Monday.
