Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst did not fare well as he started in place of the injured Jake Locker (wrist) during Sunday's 41-17 loss at Indianapolis. Whitehurst completed 12 of 23 passes for 177 yards, one touchdown and one interception before being replaced by Zach Mettenberger with 7:26 left in the fourth quarter.

The Titans struggled to gain momentum early in the game, as wide receiver Kendall Wright fumbled on the team's opening drive. On the team's next drive, wide receiver Justin Hunter allowed a pass from Whitehurst to bounce off his hands and be intercepted on the deflection.

Whitehurst did end up as the Titans' leading rusher with 40 yards on five carries. His only touchdown pass came right before the half, as he connected with Delanie Walker on a 7-yard pass with 13 seconds left in the second quarter.

The Titans are back in action Week 5 vs. Cleveland.
