According to Archie Manning, one of the funniest Saturday Night Live skits ever featuring a professional athlete almost never happened. Let's flash back to 2007 and Peyton Manning's United Way PSA:

Per the Shreveport Times, Archie said that Peyton was uncomfortable with the sketch at first.

One of his favorite stories was about Peyton’s appearance on Saturday Night Live when one of the skits was a mock football camp and Peyton was required to hit a child with a football. Manning said his son didn’t want to do it even though it was a Nerf football.

“But all the parents on the sidelines were yelling, ‘hit my kid. Hit my kid,’” said (Archie) Manning who was still feeling the effects of back, knee and neck surgeries.

This is, of course, an amazing Peyton Manning story, but thankfully he gave in and actually did it, because the sketch is an all-timer.
