Draft Scouting Report:

Rating: 69.56 (Role player)

Pro Comparison: Shawn Davis

Strengths:

Bulky linear safety best when he can click and close downhill. Flashes of high-level explosiveness and speed but not and every-play thing for him. Played a lot of free safety but was given free reign to rob the middle of the field or attack downhilll at the snap. Will run the alley like a heat-seeking missile when he sees the ball. Doesn't miss many tackles. Asserting his will downhill is how he thrives.

Weaknesses:

Limited mobility in his hips and ankles make it a challenge for him to turn and run and flip to find receivers/the football down the field. Reactionary skills are average at best. Length isn't great for the position. Throwback type who isn't ready to man-up in the slot and isn't a super-fluid, rangy defender in coverage.

Accolades:

  • 50 career games (37 consecutive starts)
  • Two-time captain
