Draft Scouting Report:

Rating: 71.04 (Chance to start)

Pro Comparison: Taylor Stallworth

Strengths:

First-step burst-based interior rusher with some lateral agility and an occasional pass-rush move in the holster. For being under 300 pounds, he does a good job against doubles, but will not be a unique speciality in the NFL. Nice side-step with swim that is decently effective.

Weaknesses:

Rushes are high and stall out often. Countering ability is almost nonexistent and he's quicker than he is fast to the quarterback. Pedal to the floor at the outset of the play but the acceleration is short-lived. Lack of length is a problem. Not capable enough of an athlete to be a star rusher or backside run defender.

Accolades:

  • 2021: All-Big Ten first team (coaches)
  • PFF: Highest-graded interior defensive linemen in Big Ten since 2019 (87.1)
