While the 2022 NFL draft class doesn't appear to be loaded with the super well-known, marquee prospects like the past two draft classes had, it's a very deep group, particularly at cornerback and edge rusher. And right now, there's no sure thing at the quarterback position or even any inclination as to who is the frontrunner to be the first player picked at the game's most vital position. (And at this rate, are we sure Oklahoma's Spencer Rattler will even declare?)
Let's get to it -- keep reading to see how all 32 picks unfold.
And just so we're all on the same page here: The draft order below was determined the reverse order of SportsLine's Super Bowl odds.
NFL Mock Draft
Round 1
Round 1 - Pick 1
The Texans handle the rebuild with patience -- because it's going to take a while -- and pass on the relatively weak quarterback class. Thibodeaux has All-Pro abilities.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 2
It's more likely every day that Trevor Lawrence will be getting a new head coach in 2022. Whoever that may be, or if Urban Meyer miraculously stays, left tackle will be a top priority.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 3
Willis is noticeably raw. But with Goff likely staying in Detroit as the starter for one more season, the Lions swing for the fences at quarterback due to Willis' immense upside.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 4
How about a lockdown cornerback for the Jets secondary? Stingley can be that, and he's a tremendous playmaker when the ball is in the air.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 5
The Falcons tied themselves to Matt Ryan for at least another season, so here they go with the freaky Hamilton to become an anchor of the backend of their defense.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 6
The Giants continue to build around the pleasantly surprising Daniel Jones with a mashing guard from the SEC.
| |||
From
Chicago Bears
Round 1 - Pick 7
Dave Gettleman won't be able to resist once he watches Leal's film. He's a game-wrecker from anywhere up front.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 8
Strong has plenty of experience and is a mostly poised pocket passer with a good arm and deceptive athleticism. He's the type the Steelers will gravitate toward during the pre-draft process.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 9
Hutchinson is freaky athletic and a three-down talent who can ultimately replace some of the aging veterans on the edge for Philadelphia. Plus, Derek Barnett is a free agent after this season.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 10
The Bengals grab the feisty, super-smooth corner from right down the street to add a nasty element to their secondary.
| |||
From
Miami Dolphins
Round 1 - Pick 11
Philadelphia gets its franchise edge rusher inside the top 10 in Hutchinson, then picks its center for the next decade in Linderbaum, who's a glorious fit in the team's zone-blocking scheme.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 12
Howell will acclimate quickly to a club with quality receivers, an adequate line, and a good stable of backs.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 13
The Patriots need more talent in their edge-rusher room. Enagbare is a little raw, but the hustle and physique are through the roof.
| |||
From
Indianapolis Colts
Round 1 - Pick 14
Damn good haul for the Eagles in Round 1. Elam is an in-your-face, SEC-tested boundary corner with lockdown abilities.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 15
Local pick for Carolina with Ekwonu, another devastating blocker with guard-tackle flexibility.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 16
Booth is a tremendous playmaker when the ball is in his vicinity, and the Vikings have been trying to bolster the cornerback group for years now.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 17
Love this pairing. Burks is the big-body type who can thrive in Sean Payton's offense. He'd flourish as a big slot in the NFL.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 18
Another secondary addition for the Raiders. McDuffie can play corner or safety and will test through the roof in Indianapolis.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 19
The Broncos defense is predicated on its stingy defensive front, and Sanders sets a strong edge and has serious tools as a pass rusher.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 20
Hill was a former massive recruit who looks like one of the most explosive athletes on the field in every game. The Titans defensive backfield still needs major reinforcement.
| |||
From
Seattle Seahawks
Round 1 - Pick 21
Robert Saleh will gravitate toward the fluidity and speed of Dean after coaching Fred Warner in San Francisco.
| |||
From
San Francisco 49ers
Round 1 - Pick 22
The Dolphins are now going into the third year of rebuilding their offensive line. Kirkland would join this team with a strong pass-protecting pedigree.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 23
The Chargers can plug Faalee into right tackle to give Justin Herbert the bookend blockers he needs to maximize his potential.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 24
Cross is a smooth athlete who needs to get stronger. While it may take him time to develop in the NFL, he has big-time talent.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 25
The Cardinals have been getting quality play from Byron Murphy this season, but the secondary is mostly patchwork at this juncture. Kendrick is pro ready.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 26
The Browns need an injection of youth into their receiver room. Wilson is a springy, big play waiting to happen out wide.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 27
More receivers for Lamar Jackson! Rejoice. London is not your typical stiff, contested-catch only big receiver. While he excels as a rebounder, he's a quality athlete running routes, too.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 28
The Packers typically shy away from linebackers early in the draft, but the athletic Harris is too good to pass up here.
| |||
From
Los Angeles Rams
Round 1 - Pick 29
Olave will hit the ground running in the NFL thanks to his surgical route-running skills and quality ball-tracking abilities.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 30
Davis looks close to being a nose tackle worthy of a first-round pick because of how he gets after it as a pass rusher.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 31
I keep going back to this pairing because Spiller is a feature back with scat-back hands. Perfect for Tom Brady.
| |||
Round 1 - Pick 32
The Chiefs need to add a blue-chip talent at the edge spot to their roster. Harrison can win in a variety of ways.
