The Lakers were outmatched in this loss Wednesday, but James delivered his most efficient performance of the season from a scoring perspective. He missed just four of his 13 shots from the field en route to clearing the 25-point mark for the second time in five games. James' production has been relatively modest in terms of his lofty standards. He's averaging 21.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists per contest. That's still above average for league standards, but it speaks volumes about how dominant James has been this late into his playing days.

After an 11-point dud against the Suns on Monday, James said during his postgame interview that he's been dealing with a minor illness, but it's nothing that'll keep him out of game action. James posted 32 points (12-22 FG), 14 rebounds and 10 assists against the Kings on Saturday, but other than that triple-double, his production has been modest given his standards, as he is averaging 16.0 points, 6.7 assists and 4.7 rebounds in his other three appearances.

James joins D'Angelo Russell (back) as probable. James being regarded as probable, instead of questionable, with the afternoon introduction of an illness still puts him on track to play against Cleveland, potentially indicating merely a minor ailment.
James posted 11 points (3-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-6 FT), five rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Monday's 109-105 loss to the Suns.
James drilled a three-pointer late in the fourth quarter to keep his streak of games with at least 10 points alive -- a run that has stretched to 1,226 contests. It's worth noting James has failed to reach the 20-point mark in two of his first four appearances this season, and while he's still an above-average fantasy performer by a wide margin, there might be signs of age finally catching up to him in the scoring department, especially now that he's the second option on offense behind Anthony Davis.

James said Friday he will play in Saturday's game against Sacramento, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. He tallied 21 points (7-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-8 FT), eight assists and four rebounds across 35 minutes of Friday's 123-116 win over Phoenix.
James missed one game in five of the Lakers' 13 back-to-back sets in 2023-24, so it wasn't a guarantee the 39-year-old would suit up Saturday. However, James confirmed Friday night that he'd play and, per Buha, James said he intends to play in all 82 regular-season games this year, barring injury. After leading the Lakers in scoring last season, James has taken a back seat to Anthony Davis early on, averaging 18.5 points on 14.5 field goal attempts compared to Davis' 35.5 points on 20.5 attempts. Still, James' all-around game makes him a valuable fantasy asset.
