Mavericks' Brandon Williams: Modest production in return
Rotowire
Williams (concussion) supplied 11 points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-7 FT), six assists and two rebounds across 19 minutes during Wednesday's 142-135 loss to the Nuggets.
Williams made his return to action after missing the previous three games due to a concussion. Though head coach Jason Kidd has been reluctant to use Williams as a full-time starter, the fifth-year guard still looks poised to remain a regular part of the rotation as the season winds down. While his production of late has been adequate, Williams doesn't necessarily need to be viewed as a must-roster player. Since moving back to a bench role March 6, Williams has averaged 10.9 points, 3.8 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 0.8 blocks, 0.6 three-pointers and 0.5 steals in 19.1 minutes per contest while shooting 47.1 percent from the field.

Williams remained in the starting five for a third straight game and led all Dallas players in scoring, albeit in a blowout loss. While he wasn't extremely efficient from the field, the 26-year-old point guard got to the charity stripe often and finished with double-digit points for an eighth consecutive contest. Williams has provided a spark both in the starting five and off the bench recently, though he'll likely see fewer minutes once Cooper Flagg (foot) and Naji Marshall (finger) return to the lineup.
