Top Coby White News

  • Hornets' Coby White: Puts up 24 points off bench

White supplied 24 points (8-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds and three assists in 20 minutes during Tuesday's 136-106 win over the Heat.

White seems to have settled into a steady bench role with the Hornets, as he's logged at least 20 minutes with the second unit in six of his last seven appearances since the trade and after overcoming a nagging calf problem. He's averaging 15.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game over that span, and while those aren't eye-popping numbers, they're certainly solid contributions considering he's averaging 20.6 minutes per game over that stretch.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Drops 18 points off bench

White accumulated 18 points (7-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 26 minutes during Saturday's 115-102 loss to the Spurs.

White chipped in across the board, providing the Hornets with solid contributions on both ends of the floor. This was arguably his best performance since returning from injury, scoring at least 15 points for just the second time in his past five outings while matching a season high with three combined steals-plus-blocks. Despite the effort, White remains a stream-level player in most standard formats, particularly for those needing points and threes.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Available Saturday

White (heel) is available for Saturday's game against the Spurs.

A bruised heel won't stop White from playing Saturday, but he remains difficult to trust in fantasy lineups with his workload limitations. Over his first seven games for the Hornets, the star guard has averaged 11.9 points, 3.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 18.6 minutes per contest.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Probable for Saturday

White (heel) is probable for Saturday's game in San Antonio.

White is dealing with a bruised heel, but it appears he plans to push through it. Check back for official confirmation on White's status closer to Saturday's tipoff.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Limited role continues

White logged nine points (3-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block over 20 minutes during Wednesday's 117-109 win over Sacramento.

White was back in the rotation after missing the previous game as part of his injury management. It's been a tough slog for White since arriving in Charlotte, averaging 11.9 points, 3.6 assists and 1.4 three-pointers in seven games over the past month. At best, fantasy managers should view him as a potential streamer for both points and threes.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Good to go Wednesday

White (calf) is cleared to play Wednesday against the Kings.

White missed the front end of the back-to-back set, but he's all set to return to the rotation. Through six appearances for Charlotte, he's averaging 12.3 points, 4.0 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 three-pointers in 18.3 minutes per contest.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Won't go Tuesday

White has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers due to left calf injury management.

White has played in three straight games for the Hornets, but he'll take a seat for the first half of Charlotte's back-to-back. Tre Mann could be in line for more chances in the backcourt in White's absence. If all goes according to plan, White should be a full go for Wednesday in Sacramento.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Absent from injury report

White (calf) is off the injury report for Wednesday's game against Boston.

White is good to go after sitting out Tuesday's game against the Mavericks due to left calf injury management. The star guard has made just three appearances since joining the Hornets, and he's likely to face workload limitations for the time being.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Will sit Tuesday

White has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks due to left calf injury management.

White will sit out of the first half of his team's back-to-back to keep him fresh. Look for Tre Mann, Josh Green and Sion James to pick up additional minutes in White's absence.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Hits for 20 in Saturday's win

White supplied 20 points (5-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), three rebounds and one assist over 21 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 109-93 win over the Trail Blazers.

The 26-year-old guard had his most productive game yet for Charlotte after scoring just 17 total points in his first two appearances for his new team. White averaged 19.0 points, 4.8 assists, 4.3 boards and 3.0 threes over his final 12 contests for the Bulls, but that was with a starting role and 30.8 minutes a game. Without a larger role for the Hornets, it will be tough for him to come close to that level of production on a consistent basis.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Scores 10 points in debut

White (calf) posted 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four assists, three rebounds and one steal across 16 minutes during Tuesday's 131-99 win over the Bulls.

White made his long-awaited debut for the Hornets after completing his recovery from a left calf strain. He unseated Tre Mann in the rotation and served as the primary backup to LaMelo Ball, finishing with a well-rounded line during his time on the court. However, unless White begins to regularly eclipse 20 minutes, he'll be difficult to justify rostering outside of deeper fantasy leagues.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Cleared to play

White (calf) is good to go for Tuesday's game against the Bulls.

White will shed his probable tag and make his Hornets debut after dealing with a nagging calf strain. Presumably, he'll come off the bench to face his former team with a modest role, as the Hornets are likely to ease him back into things.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Trending in right direction

White (calf) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Bulls.

White is on the verge of his Charlotte debut after missing time with a left calf strain. If all goes according to plan, he should be available off the bench for Tuesday's clash. Expect an update on White's availability from the team closer to tipoff.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Won't play Sunday

White (calf) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Wizards.

White has yet to make his Hornets debut due to a left calf strain and is without a clear timetable for a return. He should be considered highly questionable for Tuesday's game against the Bulls.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Remains out Friday

White (calf) will not play Friday against the Cavaliers.

White has yet to debut for the Hornets as he continues to nurse a calf strain. For now, he should be considered questionable at best for Sunday's game against the Wizards.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Still out Thursday, return date TBD

White (calf) is listed out for Thursday's game against the Rockets.

After the Hornets acquired White at the trade deadline, the team announced that he would be sidelined for the team's final four games before the All-Star break to rest his injured left calf. According to DaShawn Brown of Channel 9 Charlotte, head coach Charles Lee noted after Wednesday's practice that while White has benefited from the recent break and is "trending in the right direction," the seventh-year guard has "no real timeline right now" to make his Hornets debut. With the Hornets opening their post-break schedule with a back-to-back set, White would appear unlikely to be ready to play Friday versus Cleveland. For as long as White remains sidelined, Tre Mann should stick in the rotation as LaMelo Ball's top backup.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Out through All-Star break

White will be held out through the All-Star break in an abundance of caution to help rest his ailing right calf, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports Thursday.

White has been dealing with this nagging calf injury all season, so with some extended rest, he might finally be able move past the issue. White will miss the next four games for his new team, and with the Hornets coming out of the break with a back-to-back set, there's a chance that White will need to remain on the sidelines for their matchup with the Rockets on Feb. 19. Once healthy, White's fit with Charlotte after the trade deadline will be one to monitor, as LaMelo Ball, Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller are locked into starting roles.

  • Hornets' Coby White: Traded to Hornets

The Bulls are trading White to the Hornets in exchange for Collin Sexton, Ousmane Dieng and three second-round picks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Mike Conley is also being sent to Charlotte in the exchange.

It'll be interesting to see if White starts for the Hornets or if he's relegated to a sixth man role, but he'll be competing for minutes with LaMelo Ball, Kon Knueppel and Tre Mann in Charlotte. For now, White should be considered doubtful for Thursday's game in Houston.

  • Bulls' Coby White: Double-doubles in Tuesday's loss

White posted 21 points (7-17 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 10 rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes during Tuesday's 131-115 loss to the Bucks.

With trade rumors swirling around him, White kept his focus on the court and produced his first double-double of the season. The 25-year-old guard has scored at least 14 points in 10 straight appearances, averaging 20.0 points, 4.8 assists, 4.0 boards, 3.3 threes and 0.8 steals over that span.

  • Bulls' Coby White: Fades injury report Sunday

White (calf) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Heat.

White was held out of Saturday's loss to Miami while managing a right calf injury. He is off the injury report for Sunday's rematch and should have an expanded role on offense in his return due to the absence of Josh Giddey (hamstring). White has averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 3.4 threes and 0.9 steals over 31.0 minutes across his last 10 outings.
