  • Lakers' Bronny James: Returns from G League

The Lakers recalled James from the G League's South Bay Lakers on Saturday, Ryan Ward of SI.com reports.

The parent club was off Saturday, so James was assigned to South Bay for the club's regular-season finale in order to pick up some meaningful run. The second-year guard finished Saturday's 140-132 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce with 26 points (9-12 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in 37 minutes. While he typically hasn't been a rotation player at the NBA level this season, James could end up getting some minutes in Monday's game against the Wizards due to Luka Doncic being suspended for the contest and Marcus Smart (ankle) being uncertain to play.

James will return to the G League, where he has appeared in 13 regular-season games while averaging 14.8 points, 3.5 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals over 28.3 minutes per contest. He'll get more reps with South Bay, though James did play in each of Los Angeles' last two games.

James will be available off the bench for the Lakers' game Saturday against the Nuggets but isn't expected to be featured in the rotation. He suited up for the G League club Friday and played 22 minutes in South Bay's 125-106 win over the Iowa Wolves, finishing with 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two assists, two blocks and one rebound.

  • Lakers' Bronny James: Recalled to NBA

The Lakers recalled James from the G League's South Bay Lakers on Tuesday, Ryan Ward of SI.com reports.

James joined South Bay for Tuesday's practice but will head back to the parent club ahead of its game against Minnesota on Tuesday. The second-year guard has totaled 11 minutes over two appearances since the All-Star break, so he isn't guaranteed to see the floor against the Timberwolves on Tuesday.

  • Lakers' Bronny James: Assigned to G League

James was assigned to the G League's South Bay Lakers on Monday, Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports.

James continues to bounce between Los Angeles and South Bay. He logged 25 minutes Feb. 10 against the Spurs but has otherwise struggled to see playing time in the NBA, so he should have opportunities to stay sharp while in the G League.

The Lakers recalled James from the G League's South Bay Lakers on Sunday.

Though he joined the Lakers in advance of Sunday's 111-89 loss to the Celtics, James was inactive for the contest. • Lakers' Bronny James: Recalled after G League outing

The Lakers recalled James from the G League's South Bay Lakers on Wednesday, Ryan Ward of SI.com reports.

James will rejoin the parent club ahead of Thursday's contest versus the Mavericks after he logged 29 minutes for South Bay in its 128-116 win over the San Diego Clippers on Wednesday, finishing with 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six assists, three rebounds and two blocks. The second-year guard will be preparing to play in his third game in three days Thursday, as he had previously put up 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt), six assists, three rebounds and one block in 25 minutes in a blowout loss to the Spurs on Tuesday. The Lakers were missing several key players for that game, but with the team getting all of LeBron James (foot), Marcus Smart (ankle) and Austin Reaves (calf) back for Thursday's contest, Bronny James likely won't be included in the rotation.

  • Lakers' Bronny James: Questionable for Tuesday

James (leg) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nets.

James remains day-to-day for the Lakers, but he's not a consistent rotation player and his status is mostly irrelevant in fantasy hoops.

  • Lakers' Bronny James: Won't play Sunday

James (lower leg) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Knicks.

James will be sidelined Sunday due to soreness in his lower left leg. The young guard isn't a regular part of the Lakers' rotation, averaging just 3.9 minutes across eight January appearances, so his absence shouldn't have much impact. James' next chance to suit up will come Tuesday against the Nets.
