  • Kings' Jordan McLaughlin: Fails to score again Friday

McLaughlin amassed one rebound, one assist and one steal over three minutes during Friday's 140-113 win over the Spurs. McLaughlin continues to play a muted role off the bench, failing to score for the third straight game. In 19 games played, McLaughlin has scored in double digits only once, and he is averaging 2.1 points and 0.9 assists in 7.9 minutes per game. Barring injuries to multiple players, it appears as though McLaughlin is going to spend the majority of the season cheering on his teammates from the bench.

McLaughlin finished with three points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal across 11 minutes during Monday's 111-110 win over the Heat. Coming into Monday, McLaughlin had appeared in four of the Kings' first six games, totaling two assists in 17 minutes. Despite a close game, he saw a season-high 11 minutes versus Miami, though it's worth noting Kevin Huerter (illness) was sidelined for a second straight game.

  • Kings' Jordan McLaughlin: Draws start vs. Clippers

McLaughlin is starting Thursday's preseason game against Los Angeles, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports. • Kings' Jordan McLaughlin: Not on injury report vs. Portland

McLaughlin (ankle) is off the injury report for Sunday's preseason game against the Trail Blazers, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. McLaughlin was held out for two weeks due to a Grade 2 right ankle sprain he sustained during offseason workouts. However, the 28-year-old is off the injury report and could make his debut for the Kings on Sunday. In 56 regular-season games with the Timberwolves last season, McLaughlin averaged 3.5 points and 2.0 assists across 11.2 minutes per game.

  • Kings' Jordan McLaughlin: Suffers ankle sprain

McLaughlin sustained a Grade 2 right ankle sprain during offseason workouts and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Fresh off inking a one-year deal over the summer, McLaughlin's start to the season will not be what he had in mind. When healthy, he is expected to compete with Keon Ellis for the backup point guard role behind De'Aaron Fox. The 28-year-old McLaughlin shot a career-best 47.2 percent from three-point range across 56 regular-season games in Minnesota last season to go along with 3.5 points and 1.3 rebounds across 11.2 minutes.

  • Kings' Jordan McLaughlin: Gets one-year deal from Sacramento

McLaughlin agreed to a one-year contract with the Kings on Sunday, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. The 28-year-old spent the past five seasons with Minnesota and averaged 3.5 points, 2.0 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 11.2 minutes while shooting a career-best 47.2 percent from three-point range in 56 regular-season games in 2023-24. McLaughlin gives Sacramento an experienced reserve option at point guard behind De'Aaron Fox, though he won't necessarily be a part of head coach Mike Brown's rotation every night if the Kings' staff feels that rookie first-round Devin Carter is capable of initiating the offense when Fox is off the floor.

  • Timberwolves' Jordan McLaughlin: Lackluster production in playoffs

McLaughlin averaged 0.7 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.3 assists across 4.8 minutes in six playoff appearances, shooting 22.2 percent from the field in a limited number of attempts. McLaughlin's future in Minnesota is unclear as he will head into the offseason as an unrestricted free agent. The 28-year-old has seen a decline in production every year since he got into the league after five seasons with the Timberwolves. McLaughlin averaged 3.5 points, 2.0 assists, 1.3 rebounds and 0.6 steals across a career-low 11.2 minutes in 56 regular-season games this season.

  • Timberwolves' Jordan McLaughlin: Iffy for Sunday

McLaughlin is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bulls with a left shoulder contusion. McLaughlin's status won't matter much in fantasy hoops, as the guard usually sees minutes in the teens.

McLaughlin provided 11 points (3-3 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and one steal over 22 minutes during Monday's 114-104 win over the Jazz. McLaughlin ended as one of two Timberwolves bench players with 10 or more points and as one of five players to surpass double digits, finishing with a perfect mark from the field. McLaughlin has recorded 10 or more points in three games this season, including in two of his last four contests.

McLaughlin (illness) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Pacers. McLaughlin missed Monday's win over Portland due to an illness and still hasn't shaken the aliment. If he's ruled out again, Monte Morris and Nickeil Alexander-Walker would likely absorb a few extra minutes.

  • Timberwolves' Jordan McLaughlin: Back in action

McLaughlin is not listed on the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the Clippers. McLaughlin missed Thursday's game due to a right hip pointer, but he will return to the lineup after missing just one game. McLaughlin could see less run going forward with the recent addition of veteran guard Monte Morris.

  • Timberwolves' Jordan McLaughlin: Questionable with hip pointer

McLaughlin is questionable for Thursday's game at Milwaukee due to a right hip pointer. The Timberwolves traded for Monte Morris on Thursday, but he's not expected to be available quite yet. • Timberwolves' Jordan McLaughlin: Vital scoring off bench

McLaughlin finished with 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-2 3Pt) and one assist across 14 minutes during Monday's 107-101 win over the Thunder. McLaughlin hit double-digit scoring for the first time through 26 appearances this season, stepping up due to Mike Conley (hamstring) being inactive Monday. Nickeil Alexander-Walker has been the starter when Conley is sidelined, but McLaughlin brings value as a true point guard with trust and familiarity in the offense.

  • Timberwolves' Jordan McLaughlin: Quality contributions in loss

McLaughlin provided eight points (3-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and two steals in 13 minutes during Saturday's 102-97 loss to the Thunder. He also had no turnovers. McLaughlin entered Saturday's contest having totaled zero points, four rebounds and zero assists in 15 minutes across Minnesota's past two games. McLaughlin adds a synergistic presence in the Timberwolves' backup point guard role, but the 27-year-old hasn't settled into a rhythm this season due to knee troubles. Exceeding 20 minutes on any given night is unlikely, barring injuries in the backcourt.

  • Timberwolves' Jordan McLaughlin: Remains in rotation Friday

McLaughlin produced three points (1-1 FG, 1-1 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and two steals across 13 minutes during Friday's 122-95 win over Houston. McLaughlin played at least 12 minutes for the third straight game, a welcome sign when compared to his season thus far. Although he can be a viable target in deeper formats when afforded meaningful minutes, his role is too unpredictable at this point. Managers should keep an eye on him, just in case he supplants Nickeil Alexander-Walker. If that does happen, McLaughlin could have some value as an assists and steals specialist.
