McKinney-Jones has spent four years in the G-League, two years overseas and has played just one minute in the NBA. At this point, it seems unlikely the 28-year-old will make an NBA roster in the future.

Spurs' Trey McKinney-Jones: Playing for Spurs' summer league team
McKinney-Jones will play for the Spurs' summer league team, Mike Wright of ESPN reports.
The former Miami (FL) standout has spent the better part of the last four seasons in the G League, and he finished 2017-18 with averages of 12.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. A year ago, McKinney-Jones played with the Pacers during the Orlando Summer League before joining the Heat's entry in Las Vegas.

McKinney-Jones had 23 points (9-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block during Friday's 113-110 win over Delaware.
Friday's performance was McKinney-Jones' best all-around game this season as he narrowly missed his first double-double while dropping in 23 points. The 6-5 guard is currently averaging 11.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game for the Mad Ants this year.

McKinney-Jones played just one minute with the Pacers in the four games he was available for, and it appears he also didn't impress enough during practice to warrant a second opportunity. Pacers' Trey McKinney-Jones: Signs 10-day deal with Indiana
McKinney-Jones signed a 10-day contract with the Pacers on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
McKinney-Jones, an undrafted shooting guard from 2013 out of Miami, has played 26 games in the G-League this season for the Mad Ants. In those games, he's averaged 11.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 26.8 minutes. He also takes 2.0 three-point attempts per game and makes them at a 37.3 percent clip. He'll likely compete most directly with Joe Young for playing time on the Pacers for the duration of his 10-day deal.

McKinney-Jones will join 12 other G League stars as a member of the 2018 NBA G League USA roster for the upcoming International Challenge, per the G League.
The 27 year University of Miami product has delivered quality play off the bench this season for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, averaging 11.4 points, 3.0 boards, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals across 27 minutes per game over 26 contests. He and his fellow G League stars will face the Mexican National Team on Sunday, February 18th during the NBA All-Star festivities.

McKinney-Jones was waived by the Pacers on Saturday.
McKinney-Jones was merely a training camp body for the Pacers and he wasn't able to participate in the preseason schedule due to a shoulder injury, which certainly hurt his chances of making the final roster. He'll need to make a full recovery before getting a look from other teams, though McKinney-Jones is likely headed to the G-League to start the season once at full strength.
