Top Rudy Gobert News

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Posts another double-double

Gobert ended with 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-6 FT), 15 rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 108-104 loss to Portland.

Gobert managed to build off the dominant 21-point, 12-rebound effort he delivered in the win over the Jazz on March 18, and the big man posted back-to-back double-doubles for the first time since his first two games following the All-Star break. Gobert seems to be putting it all together, and if he can put up double-doubles consistently, he'd provide a huge boost for a Timberwolves team that's still without Anthony Edwards (knee). Gobert is averaging 11.1 points and 11.5 rebounds per game since the beginning of March, so even if he remains inconsistent on offense, he still delivers decent fantasy upside in all formats.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Dominates in blowout win

Gobert logged 21 points (9-12 FG, 3-4 FT), 12 rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 147-111 victory over the Jazz.

Gobert took full advantage of the fact that Utah boasts one of the worst frontcourts in the NBA, scoring at least 20 points for the first time in his past 13 games. While there have been a handful of subpar performances this season, on the whole, Gobert has been a success story, averaging 10.9 points, 11.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 31.5 minutes per game.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Just misses double-double in win

Gobert posted 18 points (5-5 FG, 8-10 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 36 minutes during Friday's 127-117 victory over the Warriors.

The veteran center came up one board short of his 28th double-double of the season. Gobert isn't seeing much of the ball this month -- he's scored in double digits only three times in seven March games so far, averaging 10.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.9 blocks despite shooting 73.5 percent from the floor.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Grabs 12 rebounds in defeat

Gobert posted three points (0-1 FG, 3-6 FT), 12 rebounds and two assists across 27 minutes during Tuesday's 120-106 loss to the Lakers.

Gobert didn't convert a basket in the blowout loss and only registered points at the free-throw line. He was able to keep up with Deandre Ayton under the basket as they tied with 12 boards, but the Timberwolves were unable to get into a groove against a solid effort from the Lakers' defense.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Double-doubles vs. Toronto

Gobert finished Thursday's 115-107 win over the Raptors with 18 points (7-8 FG, 4-6 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and one steal over 35 minutes.

It was an efficient game for Gobert, who finished Thursday's win as the Timberwolves' leader in rebounds and with the second-most points behind Anthony Edwards (22). It was Gobert's 27th double-double of the season -- eighth-most in the Association -- and the 14th time he's recorded at least three blocks. He has averaged 12.3 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.6 blocks and 0.8 steals over 31.9 minutes per game since Feb. 2.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Pulls down 15 boards

Gobert supplied seven points (3-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals in 38 minutes during Sunday's 117-108 victory over the Nuggets.

For the 13th time this campaign, Gobert pulled down at least 15 rebounds. Gobert is in the midst of a strong stretch with averages of 10.0 points, 16.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks over his last four games.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Dominates glass in Portland

Gobert closed Tuesday's 124-121 win over the Trail Blazers with 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-2 FT), 19 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal over 36 minutes.

After sitting out Sunday's game against the 76ers due to a one-game suspension following a flagrant 1 foul, Gobert returned and set a new season high in boards. The double-double was his 26th of the season, tying him for seventh in the NBA. Through eight games in February, Gobert is averaging 13.3 points, 11.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.5 blocks and 0.8 steals while shooting 72.4 percent from the floor.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Triggers automatic one-game ban

Gobert logged 22 points (9-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-8 FT), 17 rebounds, three blocks, one assist and one steal over 32 minutes during Friday's 122-111 win over the Mavericks. He was assessed his seventh flagrant foul of the season late in the second quarter, triggering an automatic one-game suspension.

Gobert finished with another strong double-double while offering four defensive counters, but his flagrant 1 foul marred an otherwise excellent night. The NBA will presumably review the play in question, but if the flagrant foul isn't rescinded, Gobert will sit out Sunday's game against the 76ers. Gobert previously served a one-game ban Jan. 13 against the Bucks after accruing his sixth flagrant foul. Though Gobert will be assessed another one-game suspension if his sixth flagrant foul is upheld, any additional flagrant 1 or 2 fouls beyond that will result in an automatic two-game suspension.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Nearly double-doubles

Gobert contributed 17 points (5-7 FG, 7-10 FT), eight rebounds and one assist over 28 minutes during Wednesday's 133-109 victory over the Trail Blazers.

Gobert took a step in the right direction at the free-throw line Wednesday, but he's hitting a career-low 50.2 percent for the season. As for his counting stats, Gobert is averaging a double-double with 11.0 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.7 dimes and 1.6 blocks per contest.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Perfect from field

Gobert produced 18 points (7-7 FG, 4-9 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one block in 33 minutes during Monday's 138-116 victory over the Hawks.

Gobert was flawless from the field Monday, delivering a strong scoring contribution in a lopsided win. It marked the big man's highest scoring output since Jan. 4, as he entered the contest averaging 9.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals over the previous five games. Free-throw shooting remains an issue, though, as Gobert's efficiency at the charity stripe has dipped below 50.0 percent this season after finishing at 67.4 percent last year.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Steady campaign continues

Gobert ended with 10 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one block over 30 minutes during Sunday's 115-96 loss to the Clippers.

Gobert continues to go about his business as a reliable source of boards and swats. Over his last seven appearances, the veteran center has averaged 9.7 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.3 steals in 29.5 minutes per game.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Double-doubles in Toronto

Gobert recorded 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-5 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 128-126 victory over the Raptors.

It was the fourth straight game in which Gobert had pulled down double-digit boards, and the double-double was his 23rd of the season, tying him for eighth in the NBA. The veteran center also remained busy on defense, and over his last 15 games Gobert has averaged 9.9 points, 12.1 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 69.0 percent from the floor.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Dominates glass against Grizzlies

Gobert ended Saturday's 131-114 victory over Memphis with nine points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT), 16 rebounds, two blocks and two steals across 31 minutes.

The veteran center came up one point shy of his 23rd double-double of the season. Gobert failed to pull down double-digit boards only twice in January, averaging 10.3 points, 12.2 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 14 games on the month while shooting 68.2 percent from the floor, but just 47.5 percent from the charity stripe.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Cruises to double-double

Gobert amassed 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-8 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Thursday's 123-111 win over Oklahoma City.

Robert rolled to his ninth double-double in 13 January appearances. He didn't need many opportunities on the offensive end to reach double figures and managed to power through an ankle sprain that he seemingly picked up during Monday's clash against Golden State. The big man is averaging 10.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.7 blocks so far this month.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Cleared to play Thursday

Gobert (ankle) is available for Thursday's game against the Thunder, Brandon Rahbar of DailyThunder.com reports.

Gobert was a game-time decision for Thursday's game due to a left ankle sprain, but the veteran center has been given the green light to play against Oklahoma City. He has averaged 10.1 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.1 steals over 30.5 minutes per game since Jan. 3.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Listed questionable Thursday

Gobert is questionable for Thursday's game against the Thunder due to a left ankle sprain.

Gobert's status could be determined by a game-time decision based on pregame warmups. If the star big man is ultimately downgraded to out, Naz Reid stands out as the most likely choice to step into a featured role at center for the Timberwolves.
