Canaan has been among the most productive players in the G League since signing with Stockton on Dec. 12, averaging 21.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 3.8 three-pointers per game. He should be considered a game-time decision for Stockton's next game, which takes place Wednesday against Oklahoma City.

In his second G League game of the season, Canaan came off the bench to pace Stockton in both scoring and assists in 33 minutes of action. He also collected three steals and committed only one turnover. With Canaan's strong start -- he is averaging 21 points and 9.5 assists on 60 percent shooting through two games -- and extensive NBA experience, it wouldn't be shocking if the 28-year-old was picked up by an NBA squad to provide an offensive spark.

Canaan logged 30 minutes in his first G League contest of the season after playing 30 games in the NBA in 2018-19. Canaan spent 30 games last season playing with various teams in the NBA, but he wound up heading to China this offseason after failing to secure a deal with an NBA squad. It appears he's returned from overseas and will take his talents to the G League with hopes of catching the eye of GMs again at the top level.

Isaiah Canaan: G League rights traded
Canaan's returning player rights have been dealt from the Austin Spurs to the Stockton Kings along with a third-round pick in exchange for Cam Reynolds' rights and a second-round selection.
Canaan played in the G League last year but made the move overseas this offseason for China. Should he make his way back to the G League ranks, Canaan will return as a member of Stockton rather than Austin.

Canaan signed a 10-day contract with the Bucks on Monday.
Canaan quickly found a new home after his second 10-day deal with the Timberwolves ran out. He'll join a Bucks team in need of backcourt depth thanks to injuries to George Hill (groin), Sterling Brown (wrist) and Donte DiVincenzo (heel). Across 26 games between stops at Phoenix and Minnesota, Canaan is averaging 6.7 points, 3.1 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 23.0 minutes this season.
