Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart is his team's best hope for a breakout star. Heading into his second year, Boston would like to see him excel on offense the same way he does on defense. No other young Celtic has the kind of strength and athleticism that he possesses, as evidenced by his putback dunk on Monday against the Brooklyn Nets:
The cool thing about it is how he just comes out of nowhere. That's partially on the Nets for failing to box him out, but it's also just great recognition from Smart.
Also, this shows you how weird the Celtics are going to be, doesn't it? There's Kelly Olynyk, a 7-footer, missing a 3-pointer, and then the point guard crashing the offensive boards for a dunk. Coach Brad Stevens can do some tricky things with his depth, and this really should be a fun team, especially if Smart takes a big step forward.
