Former Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen is totally OK with people comparing him to San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard. Pippen conducted a Twitter Q&A on Thursday, while the Bulls were playing the Spurs, and he said he got a lot of questions about Leonard.
A lot of people compare Kawhi to me & it makes sense. He's always been elite on D & now he's killing it offensively. Dominant all-around.

Congratulations to Pippen for complimenting Leonard and calling himself "elite" and "dominant" in 137 characters. The timing couldn't have been better, as Leonard is on the cover of ESPN the Magazine, SLAM and Sports Illustrated at the same time.
Some people weren't pleased with Pippen's apparent lack of humility, but I'd say humility is overrated sometimes. This is a Hall of Famer, and Leonard should probably be seen as an evolutionary version of him: stronger, more efficient and more accurate from 3-point range. Pippen, obviously, is more accomplished than Leonard, and he was a superior passer.
The biggest difference between the two of them is that you could never imagine Leonard saying something like this after he retires. The quietest superstar in the NBA will likely be asked about Pippen's comment in the near future, and I'll bet he'll say something similar to what he said after his first podium game in the playoffs: "I don't feel no certain way about it."
