It's hard to believe that Carmelo Anthony has been in the league long enough to produce a 12th version of his signature shoe line with Jordan Brand, but as he enjoys his 13th season in the NBA and fifth full season with the New York Knicks, Jordan Brand is launching his 12th signature shoe. The Jordan Melo M12 harkens back to Anthony's childhood in Baltimore, paying homage to "the dungeon," a Baltimore rec center Melo frequented to focus on hoops.

From Jordan Brand:

Today the Jordan Brand celebrates the launch of the Jordan Melo M12, Carmelo Anthony’s twelfth signature shoe. The M12 pays tribute to the “the dungeon,” a rec center in Baltimore that served as a safe haven to a young Carmelo Anthony, allowing him to focus exclusively on basketball.

The shoe’s lightweight, flexible form provides better ankle lockdown and comfort while a mesh upper, asymmetrical webbing loops and a pared-down heel and ankle design offer targeted support for a one-to-one fit. Lightweight zoned cushioning and heel lockdown, including four foam pads placed in the interior, augment this pinpointed support.

Jordan Brand mentions the importance of the journey for Anthony, which has helped him develop work ethic and the necessary skills to be one of the star players in the NBA. The shoe is designed to give proper ankle support and cushioning for the foot without weighing you down too much. It also uses Flightspeed technology to help responsiveness with your first step.

The Melo M12 will be available from Jordan on Jan. 2 and will retail for $160. More colorways will be launched during the spring season.
