Through 3 Quarters
Down 12 at the end of last quarter, the Minnesota Timberwolves have now snagged the lead. It's anybody's game after three quarters, but Minnesota is ahead of the Miami Heat 89-86.
Shooting guard Jaylen Nowell (14 points), center Karl-Anthony Towns (13 points), point guard D'Angelo Russell (12 points), and power forward Jaden McDaniels (12 points) have been the top scorers for the Timberwolves. Karl-Anthony Towns does need to be careful, however, as he is in foul trouble with four. Jaden McDaniels has also picked up four fouls.
Miami has been relying on point guard Tyler Herro, who has 24 points along with five boards, and center Bam Adebayo, who has dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds in addition to four dimes.
Miami hasn't lost 78% of the games in which they were down heading into the final period this year, so a victory here would be refreshing.

What to Know
The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Miami Heat will face off at 8 p.m. ET March 12 at FTX Arena without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Miami will be strutting in after a win while the Timberwolves will be stumbling in from a loss.
The point spread favored Minnesota this past Friday, but luck did not. They came up short against the Orlando Magic, falling 118-110. Despite the defeat, Minnesota had strong showings from small forward Anthony Edwards, who had 25 points and five assists, and center Karl-Anthony Towns, who posted a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Towns has had at least 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the contest between Miami and the Cleveland Cavaliers this past Friday was still a pretty decisive one as Miami wrapped it up with a 117-105 victory at home. The Heat's center Bam Adebayo did his thing and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 17 boards.
The Timberwolves are now 38-30 while Miami sits at 45-23. Two stats to keep an eye on: Minnesota ranks second in the league when it comes to fouls drawn per game, with 20.7 on average. Miami is completely their equal: they also come into the game with 20.7 fouls drawn per game. Be prepared to get familiar with the officiating crew.
