NASCAR Cup Series at Atlanta results: Kevin Harvick picks up second win of the year in QuikTrip 500
Highlights and analysis from the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500
Kevin Harvick is the winner of the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, taking the checkered flag at Atlanta Motor Speedway for his second NASCAR Cup Series win of the season. Just as every other race in this restarted season, the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 was held without spectators in the stands.
Before the race, NASCAR honored George Floyd with a moment of silence and NASCAR president Steve Phelps shared a message with his drivers.
The win is the second of the season for Harvick in the Cup Series, his 51st career win and third career win at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. During his victory lap, Harvick paid tribute to the late Dale Earnhardt with a number three salute out his car window.
"My first win came for me here in Atlanta and this is just a racetrack that I've taken a likening to," Harvick said when speaking to FOX Sports after the race. "You always come back and have those memories, and now you want to celebrate everything Dale Earnhardt did for this sport. To come here and be able to do that with wins and go to victory lane, it's pretty special."
This was the 113th race hosted by Atlanta Motor Speedway in the Cup Series' history. Harvick won in Atlanta back in 2001 and 2018. Earnhardt won the Atlanta race nine times during his career.
Kyle Busch finished second, with Martin Truex Jr. in third followed by Ryan Blaney in fourth and Denny Hamlin in fifth.
