Doyle didn't have a remarkable day at the plate, and he's now 0-for-7 in his first two games of the season. However, he did manage a free pass in the second inning, and he also went on to notch his first stolen base of the campaign. Doyle has hit seventh for both of Colorado's first two contests.

Doyle has participated in only two games this spring because of a left wrist sprain, with the last of those coming more than a week ago. He's made nice progress, though, and his return to the lineup appears imminent. Barring setbacks, Doyle appears poised to avoid the injured list and start the season on time.

The Rockies had said previously that Doyle being scratched was precautionary, but him being sent for imaging suggests there's some level of concern. Doyle took a step back last season with the Rockies, slashing just .233/.274/.650 with 15 homers, 57 RBI, 57 runs scored and 18 steals over 538 plate appearances. Despite his disappointing campaign, the 28-year-old outfielder will receive a $2.335 million bump in salary and remains locked in as Colorado's primary center fielder entering 2026.
