  • Mariners' George Kirby: Continues to provide length in win

Kirby (2-2) earned the win Monday against the Astros, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk in 7.2 innings. He struck out six.

Kirby scattered seven singles Monday, pouring in 69 of his season-high 99 pitches for strikes as well. The star right-hander has been very steady for both the Mariners and fantasy managers alike to begin the new year, working at least six innings in each of his first four outings while recording at least six strikeouts in three of them. Kirby sports a 3.25 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB over 27.2 frames ahead of his next scheduled matchup versus the division-rival Rangers over the weekend.

  • Mariners' George Kirby: Tosses eight innings, takes loss

Kirby (1-2) took the loss against the Rangers on Tuesday, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out four across eight innings. He did not issue a walk.

Kirby ended up being the only pitcher deployed by the Mariners during Tuesday's game, tossing 68 strikes in 90 pitches (75.6 percent) while inducing 12 groundouts. He kept the Rangers off the board for the majority of his start but gave up three runs in the fifth inning, including a two-run homer to Kyle Higashioka that was enough for Kirby to take the loss since his teammates failed to generate any more runs. Kirby has recorded a quality start in each of his first three appearances of the season and has a 3.60 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB across 20 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start, which is slated for next week at home against the Astros.

  • Mariners' George Kirby: Serves up three-run homer in loss

Kirby (1-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out six.

The right-hander gave up just one run through five frames, but Paul Goldschmidt's three-run homer in sixth inning left a big mark on Kirby's ledger. Kirby has now gone at least six innings in each of his first two starts of the year, but he's now been taken deep twice already. The right-hander will try to keep the ball in the yard the next time he takes the mound, which is set come in Texas versus the division-rival Rangers next week.

  • Mariners' George Kirby: Sharp in season debut

Kirby (1-0) allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings to earn the win Friday over the Guardians.

The lone blemish on Kirby's line was a solo shot by Chase DeLauter in the first inning. Kirby pitched to a 3.77 ERA over 14.1 innings across four starts in spring training, and his 11:5 K:BB was an unusual showing of shaky command. The right-hander had a 4.21 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 137:29 K:BB across 126 regular-season innings in 2025. Kirby should offer strong command and plenty of bounce-back potential in 2026, which is already off to a good start after his strong season debut. He's lined up for a home start versus the Yankees next week.

  • Mariners' George Kirby: Shaky to start spring

Kirby allowed two runs on two hits and a walk across 1.1 innings in Tuesday's Cactus League matchup with the White Sox. He struck out one.

It was a tough start to the spring for Kirby in his first Cactus League outing. The right-hander gave up a two-out run on a Lenyn Sosa double in the first inning before he was charged with two more runs after departing with one out in the second. Kirby is looking to rebound from an up-and-down 2025 campaign in which he posted a career-worst 4.21 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP and 137:29 K:BB across 23 regular-season starts (126 innings).
