Brewers' Trevor Megill: Another poor outing
Megill blew his save chance during Tuesday's 9-7 extra-inning loss to Toronto. He allowed three runs on three hits and one walk and failed to strike out a batter over one inning.
After giving up one run while converting three saves through his first four outings of the season, Megill has now been roughed out his last two times out, yielding seven runs and putting seven runners on base while recording just three outs. Per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, manager Pat Murphy acknowledged after Tuesday's loss that the Brewers may consider a change at closer, though the skipper said that no immediate decision has been made. Abner Uribe notched seven saves for Milwaukee in 2025 and would appear to be the next man up if the Brewers go in a different direction at closer, though he's been shaky of late with at least one run allowed in three of his last four appearances. Angel Zerpa (6.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP in nine innings) has recorded the Brewers' lone save this season that hasn't gone to Megill.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Implodes in ninth, takes loss
Megill (0-2) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing four runs on two hits without recording an out.
With the game tied 3-3, Megill came on for the top of the ninth inning. He hit CJ Abrams with a pitch, allowed a bunt single to Joey Wiemer, surrendered an RBI single to Luis Garcia, threw the ball away on a sacrifice bunt by Jorbit Vivas and then Milwaukee was unable to get an out on a safety squeeze by Drew Millas. After five batters and nine pitches, Megill's night was over. Megill entered play Friday with a 2.25 ERA but now will take an 11.25 ERA and 5:3 K:BB across four innings into his next appearance.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Notches third save
Megill picked up the save in Sunday's 8-5 victory over the Royals. He allowed one hit and no walks with no strikeouts in a scoreless ninth inning.
The right-hander was handed a three-run cushion and worked around a two-out single by Bobby Witt to lock down his third save in as many tries this season. Megill gave up a run and took a loss against Tampa Bay on March 30, but he's otherwise been unscored upon in his other three appearances. Overall he has a 2.25 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 5:3 K:BB through four frames in 2026.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Holds on for second save
Megill picked up the save Saturday against the Royals, allowing no hits and two walks in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out two.
The right-hander did make things interesting, allowing the tying run to get to the plate, but he caught Vinnie Pasquantino looking to end the game. Though Abner Uribe presents a pretty considerable threat in the bullpen, Megill looks to be Milwaukee's primary closer to begin the new year. He's converted each of his first two save chances, but Megill has walked three over three innings so far and will be looking to improve his control going forward.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Saddled with loss against Tampa Bay
Megill (0-1) allowed one run on one hit and one walk in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Rays. He struck out one.
Megill was brought on to open the top of the ninth of a 2-2 game and got Junior Caminero to ground out before striking out Ben Williamson. However, Megill walked Jonny DeLuca and then surrendered an RBI double to Nick Fortes. Megill appears to have a solid hold on the closer job for the Brewers after securing his first save of the season Sunday against the White Sox. After pitching back-to-back days, Megill is likely unavailable for Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Fans two for first save of 2026
Megill earned the save in the Brewers' 9-7 win over the White Sox on Sunday, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.
The Brewers bats rallied with a six-run eighth inning, and Megill was brought out for the top of the ninth for his first save opportunity of the season. He yielded a single to Tristan Peters before striking out the next two batters, and Megill came away with the save after getting Miguel Vargas to fly out to right field. Megill is looking to build off a solid 2025 regular season in which he collected a career-high 30 saves (eighth most in the majors) while posting a 2.49 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 60:17 K:BB across 47 innings.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Makes first spring appearance
Megill tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Sunday's spring game against the Royals. He did not allow a hit, struck out a batter and walked another.
It was reported last Monday that Megill received a PRP injection in his forearm at some point over the offseason, but he took the mound for the first time this spring less than a week later, and per Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel hit 98.3 mph on the radar gun. The arm issues are something to be aware of, but it's also tough to ignore the 30 saves he recorded last season and 21 the year before. Megill is in line to open the season as Milwaukee's closer, and Abner Uribe is presumably next in line should Megill need a breather or wind up unavailable.
