Twins' Brooks Lee: Hitting for averge this spring
Lee went 2-for-4 in Monday's spring training win over Boston. He's hitting .308 (16-for-52) with a .743 OPS this spring.
Lee looks set to begin the season as the everyday shortstop. He was underwhelming at the plate last year in his sophomore season with a .655 OPS, though he did hit 16 home runs. He has a good eye at the plate and makes excellent contact (just a 17.5 K%) but struggles to generate power (just a a 28.0% hard-hit rate). It's not clear if he'll have the glove to stick at shortstop as he was -8 in Defensive Runs Saved last season, so it's a big season for Lee to show he can be a building block for the next Twins playoff team.

Twins' Brooks Lee: Leading candidate for shortstop
Lee is the favorite to start at shortstop for the Twins but must show improved range and more consistent offense, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Lee took over as the everyday shortstop last season after Carlos Correa was traded, but he struggled at the position defensively. The Twins have very little depth behind Lee at shortstop, so they have little choice but to throw him out there and hope for improvement with the glove. If Lee falters, Ryan Kreidler and Orlando Arcia would be next in line at shortstop for Minnesota.

Lee scored on a wild pitch in the second inning before tying the game with a 430-foot blast in the fourth. The big night came at a good time, as the 24-year-old had entered Wednesday in a 1-for-21 slump since homering twice July 29 versus Boston. For the season, he's slashing .245/.288/.376 with 11 home runs, 44 RBI, 30 runs scored and two steals across 354 plate appearances.

Lee went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Friday's 3-2 loss against the Guardians.
Lee had been serving in a utility infield role in recent weeks, but he's poised to serve as the Twins' everyday shortstop moving forward after Carlos Correa was traded to Houston on Thursday. While seeing sporadic playing time for much of July, Lee slashed just .164/.219/.269 with two home runs, 11 RBI, four runs and one stolen base on the month.

Twins' Brooks Lee: Rips two homers
Lee went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Tuesday's loss to Boston.
Lee came off the bench for Carlos Correa (illness) and delivered an offensive outburst. Lee put the Twins on the board with an RBI single in the fifth inning before knocking a pair of two-run homers in the seventh and ninth frames. It was his first career multi-homer performance and snapped a 23-game homer drought. During that skid, he went 11-for-70 (.157). Lee's five-RBI day matched his total from the previous 17 games combined. He's now slashing .256/.294/.387 with 20 extra-base hits and 43 RBI through 326 plate appearances.
