Red Sox's Helcris Olivarez: Cut from spring camp
The Red Sox reassigned Olivarez (shoulder) to minor-league camp Wednesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Once a promising pitching prospect in the Rockies organization, Olivarez's star has faded after shoulder problems limited him to just two total regular-season innings in the minors over the past two years. He joined the Red Sox on a minor-league pact in November and is seemingly healthy again, as he made two Grapefruit League appearances, giving up two earned runs on three hits and two walks over 1.2 innings. Given that Olivarez has yet to appear above the High-A level, he could be a candidate to open the campaign at Double-A Portland rather than Triple-A Worcester.

Olivarez (shoulder) signed a minor-league contract Thursday with the Red Sox, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Olivarez was a promising prospect in the Rockies' system at age 17-18, but he has appeared in only one minor-league game over the last two seasons because of shoulder complications. The now 23-year-old left-hander will look to return to health and revitalize his professional career with the Red Sox.

Rockies' Helcris Olivarez: Makes 2022 debut in rookie ball
Olivarez (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with the Rockies' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate July 15 and struck out one over two perfect innings in his lone appearance for the club.
The July 15 outing marked Olivarez's season debut after he had opened the season on the Rockies' 60-day injured list due to a left shoulder strain. The fact that he hasn't pitched again in the minors in the two and a half weeks since his initial appearance could hint at a possible setback in his recovery.

Rockies' Helcris Olivarez: Continuing throwing program
Olivarez (shoulder) is getting stronger in his throwing program and has begun to throw off a slope, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Olivarez has been sidelined all season with a shoulder strain, and player development director Chris Forbes described the left-hander as "getting there." It's unclear when Colorado will feel comfortable getting Olivarez back into game action, though he will likely begin his season with Triple-A Albuquerque once cleared.

Rockies' Helcris Olivarez: On IL with scapula strain
Olivarez has a scapula strain in the back of his left shoulder, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.
The 21-year-old southpaw spent the entire 2021 season at High-A, but he is on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Albuquerque, so perhaps the Rockies are intending on fast-tracking him to the majors once he is healthy.

Rockies' Helcris Olivarez: Goes to minors
The Rockies optioned Olivarez to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.
Olivarez was one of four players on the Rockies' 40-man roster that was dispatched to the minors Thursday, leaving Colorado with 47 players remaining at MLB camp. The 21-year-old lefty's demotion comes as little surprise, given that he has yet to pitch above the Double-A level. He covered 99.2 innings for High-A Spokane in 2021, submitting a 6.05 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 112:68 K:BB.
