  • Phillies' Adolis Garcia: Slugs second home run in loss

Garcia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Rockies.

Garcia accounted for the Phillies' lone run and was the only member of the starting lineup to reach base multiple times Sunday. Garcia's home run in the second inning was his second as a member of the Phillies, and the veteran outfielder is slashing .294/.306/.529 with the two homers, four RBI, three runs scored and a 1:9 BB:K across 36 plate appearances.

  • Phillies' Adolis Garcia: Productive start with new team

Garcia went 2-for-5 with a walk in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over Washington.

Garcia appears to have lost out on the cleanup job to Alec Bohm to begin his Phillies career, but he's still occupying a spot in the heart of the lineup. He's hit sixth in four games and fifth in two contests so far, and Garcia is doing his part to remain worthy of moving up the batting order. The right fielder is batting .318 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and one walk over his first 22 at-bats.

  • Phillies' Adolis Garcia: Candidate to hit cleanup

Garcia is a candidate to bat in the cleanup spot this season, per Cole Weintraub of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

The departure of Nick Castellanos, who was the club's primary cleanup batter a year ago, this offseason further increases Garcia's chances of beginning the new campaign as Philadelphia's No. 4 hitter. Garcia is lined up as the Phillies' top right fielder this spring, but he's turned in a sub-.700 OPS in consecutive seasons with the Rangers and enters 2026 as a late-round gamble in most fantasy leagues. That said, the prospect of batting behind All-Stars Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper offers Garcia plenty of upside for run production.

  • Phillies' Adolis Garcia: Nets $10 million deal from Phillies

The Phillies signed Garcia to a one-year, $10 million contract Monday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.

The Phillies are expected to trade or release Nick Castellanos this offseason, and Garcia is now lined up to replace him in right field. Garcia has just a .675 OPS and 89 wRC+ over the last two seasons, though he graded out as a solid defender in right field in 2025. He should benefit from a ballpark and lineup upgrade in 2026 in what will be his age-33 season.

  • Adolis Garcia: Non-tendered by Rangers

The Rangers non-tendered Garcia on Friday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Garcia was slated to make approximately $12 million in arbitration, but the Rangers have opted to part ways with the 32-year-old slugger. He finished the 2025 regular season with a .665 OPS with 13 steals, 58 runs scored, 19 home runs and 75 RBI in 547 plate appearances. Garcia's production at the plate has dipped over the past couple of the seasons, but he should garner interest from teams looking to add outfield depth ahead of the 2026 campaign.

  • Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Belts solo shot in loss

Garcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Cleveland.

Garcia crushed his 19th homer of the year and his first of the month of September. The veteran outfielder has been quite disappointing in 2025 -- his .665 OPS is a career worst, and he's in jeopardy of turning in his first season without 20 homers since becoming a full-time player in 2021. With a poor .227 batting average over 503 at-bats to boot, Garcia might be a tough player to rank in 2026.

  • Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Playing time drying up

Garcia is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Twins.

Garcia has been dealing with a lingering quad issue, and while he will be available to play again Thursday, he has made only one start over the last five contests. With the Rangers no longer in playoff contention, Garcia's playing time in the final days could continue to be sparse. Billy McKinney will be in right field and bat seventh for the second straight day.

  • Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Not in Wednesday's starting lineup

Garcia is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Twins on Wednesday.

Garcia returned to the lineup Tuesday after missing the prior two games due to a lingering quad issue. He'll be available off the bench for Wednesday's tilt while Billy McKinney -- whose contract was selected by the Rangers from Triple-A Round Rock -- starts in right field and bats seventh.

  • Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Back in lineup Tuesday

Garcia (quadriceps) is starting in right field and batting fifth against the Twins on Tuesday.

Garcia is still dealing with a quad issue that forced him to the injured list earlier this month. Despite his activation from the IL eight days ago, manager Bruce Bochy said this past Sunday that Garcia still isn't 100 percent. Since returning from the injured list, Garcia is 1-for-18 at the plate with zero extra-base hits, one RBI and a 0:4 BB:K.
