Reds' Allan Cerda: Returns to Cincinnati
Cerda agreed to a minor-league contract with the Reds on Friday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Cerda and Daniel Duarte were non-tendered by the Reds, but both were brought right back the same day. Chances are, Cerda will open the year as organizational outfield depth in the minor leagues. He slashed .208/.360/.444 with 24 homers and seven steals in 124 games between High-A and Double-A last season.

Allan Cerda: Non-tendered by Cincinnati
The Reds declined to tender Cerda a contract for 2023, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Just a year ago, the Reds added Cerda to the 40-man roster for Rule 5 protection. Cerda struggled to a .193 average during his time at Double-A as a 22-year-old last season, though his OPS was more respectable at .737.

Reds' Allan Cerda: Heads to Double-A
The Reds promoted Cerda from High-A Dayton to Double-A Chattanooga on Monday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Cerda was protected from the Rule 5 draft and added to the Reds' 40-man roster over the winter, and the 23-year-old outfielder's performance so far this season has seemingly validated that decision. Over 249 plate appearances at Dayton, Cerda got on base at a .357 clip while producing 26 extra-base hits (13 home runs, 12 doubles and one triple).

Reds' Allan Cerda: Back at High-A
Cerda, who opened the year at High-A Dayton, has four strikeouts and four walks in 10 plate appearances through three games.
He was also hit by a pitch Sunday. He was originally optioned to Double-A but was then reassigned to High-A, which is a bit surprising, considering he is already on the 40-man roster and logged a 136 wRC+ in 21 games there a season ago. If he can keep the strikeouts in check, he should get the bump to Double-A before the halfway point of the season.

Reds' Allan Cerda: Beginning year at Double-A
The Reds optioned Cerda to Double-A Chattanooga on Thursday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Along with Cerda, Cincinnati optioned right-handers Jared Solomon and James Marinan to Chattanooga in the latest round of roster cuts. Even though Cincinnati chose to protect Cerda from the Rule 5 draft this winter by adding him to the 40-man roster, the 22-year-old outfielder is likely a year or more away from reaching the majors. He split time between Low-A Daytona and High-A Dayton in 2021, slashing a collective .250/.361/.523 with 17 home runs across 363 plate appearances.
