The Guardians released Tucker on Wednesday.
Tucker owns a .200/.296/.263 slash line across 108 plate appearances with Single-A Lynchburg but is striking out at a 38.9-percent clip. While the 21-year-old has underwhelmed in his brief professional career, a team could look to take a flier on the 23rd overall pick from the 2020 first-year player draft.

Guardians' Carson Tucker: Activated from IL
Tucker (forearm) was activated from the 7-day injured list Wednesday.
Tucker has been out since early May with a forearm strain, but he'll return to Single-A Lynchburg on Wednesday. He was off to a slow start prior to getting hurt, batting just .083 with two RBI, three runs and two stolen bases over 24 at-bats in nine games.

Guardians' Carson Tucker: Shut down with forearm strain
Single-A Lynchburg placed Tucker on the 7-day injured list Monday with a right forearm strain.
Though the 20-year-old shortstop should face a shorter timeline for a return from the injury than a pitcher would, he'll still likely be sidelined for multiple weeks while recovering from the injury to his throwing arm. The 2020 first-round pick has yet to see any action for an affiliate this season after slashing .150/.320/.300 across 25 plate appearances in his professional debut in 2021 with Cleveland's rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate.
