    The Rangers released Reyes on Monday, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports. Reyes, who had attended spring training as a non-roster invitee, was one of 37 minor-league players cut loose by Texas. The 28-year-old spent most of the past season as a member of the rotation with the Rays' Triple-A affiliate at Durham, posting a 4.82 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 106.1 innings.

    Reyes agreed to a minor-league deal with the Rangers on Monday. The 27-year-old will receive an invitation to big-league camp as part of the deal. He's not particularly likely to make the Opening Day roster, as he's yet to make his major-league debut and owns 4.96 ERA over parts of five seasons at the Triple-A level.

  • Rays' Arturo Reyes: Signs MiLB deal with Rays

    Reyes agreed to a minor-league contract with Tampa Bay on Monday, Kyle Boddy of Driveline Baseball reports. Reyes was cut loose by the Cardinals last season after posting an ugly 6.68 ERA and 1.93 WHIP with 35 strikeouts in 33.3 frames at Triple-A Memphis. He'll get another chance with the Rays and figures to begin the 2019 campaign at Triple-A Durham. Reyes has yet to appear in the major leagues.

    Reyes was released by the Cardinals on Saturday, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports. Reyes had been pitching for Triple-A Memphis without much success, recording a 6.68 ERA in 33.2 innings. The 26-year-old has never reached the majors and has a 5.03 ERA in parts of four seasons at the highest level of the minors.

    Reyes (ankle) was reassigned to minor-league camp Sunday. Due to a lingering ankle injury, Reyes appeared in just one Grapefruit League game this spring, during which he gave up two runs on three hits and a walk while retiring just two batters. Reyes will likely return to Triple-A Memphis to start the 2018 season.

  • Cardinals' Arturo Reyes: Reassigned to Triple-A

    Reyes was reassigned to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday, Derrick Goold of St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The 24-year-old right-hander generated a 3.65 ERA and 1.05 WHIP over 12.3 spring innings across seven appearance and will begin the 2017 campaign in what will be his third overall stint at Memphis. Reyes generated 9-4 record, 4.17 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 77:36 K:BB over 101.1 innings at the Triple-A level in 2016.
