  • Cardinals' Erick Fedde: Strikes out 10 batters Wednesday

Fedde (9-9) earned the win over Colorado on Wednesday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters over seven innings.

Fedde racked up 14 whiffs en route to his 10 punchouts, his most since he fanned 11 batters against the Twins on April 23. The right-hander picked up his second straight quality start, and he gave up two earned runs or fewer in five of his final seven outings. If Fedde doesn't pitch again this season, as expected, he'll finish the campaign with career-best marks in wins (nine), ERA (3.30), WHIP (1.16) and strikeouts (154) while tallying a career-high 31 starts and 177.1 innings.

  • Cardinals' Erick Fedde: Registers quality start Thursday

Fedde allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out three batters over six innings in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Thursday.

The right-hander finished with his first quality start since Aug. 25 and just his second over his past 10 outings. Fedde's numbers haven't been overwhelming, but his 3.38 season ERA is on pace to easily be the best of his seven-year career.

  • Cardinals' Erick Fedde: No-decision against Jays

Fedde allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over five innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out three during the extra-innings loss to Toronto.

He's now failed to complete six innings in six of his eight starts since being acquired by the Cardinals. During that span. he's produced a 4.43 ERA, pushing his season mark up to 3.45. Fedde is 0-5 over his last six starts and hasn't won since Aug. 7. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is projected to come at home against the Pirates.

  • Cardinals' Erick Fedde: Stuck with tough loss Friday

Fedde (8-9) took the loss Friday, allowing one run on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings as the Cardinals fell 6-1 to the Mariners. He struck out one.

The right-hander was locked in a scoreless pitchers' duel with Bryce Miller through four innings, but Fedde blinked first and loaded the bases in the fifth on a hit-by-pitch, a single and a walk before Randy Arozarena brought home the game's first run with a sacrifice fly. Matthew Liberatore relieved Fedde and prevented any further damage, but the Cards were never able to tie things back up. Over seven starts with St. Louis, Fedde has a 4.30 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 30:15 K:BB through 37.2 innings, a far cry from his numbers with the White Sox before being traded. He'll look to find his early-season form in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Toronto.
