  • Twins' Alec Asher: Inks MiLB deal with Minnesota

Asher signed a minor-league contract with the Twins on Tuesday. After being released by the Rockies in mid-March, Asher pitched in the independent Atlantic League during the 2019 season. The right-hander spent most of 2018 with Triple-A Columbus, where he recorded a 6.05 ERA and 1.60 WHIP with a 49:36 K:BB across 16 starts. Asher will have the opportunity to work with the big-league coaching staff before likely returning to the minors until potentially earning another shot with the Twins' bullpen.

  • Rockies' Alec Asher: Reaches deal with Colorado

Asher agreed to a minor-league contract with the Rockies, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports. The right-hander split the 2018 season between the Dodgers and Brewers organizations, logging all but two of his 24 appearances (17 starts) at the Triple-A level. While with the Brewers' Pacific Coast League affiliate at Colorado Springs, Asher posted a 6.05 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 96.2 innings, numbers that don't portend well for him finding success at Coors Field if he should get a look with the Rockies at any point in 2019.

  • Brewers' Alec Asher: Outrighted to Triple-A

Asher cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Friday. Asher was designated for assignment back on Tuesday to make room for Jake Thompson. The 26-year-old's 5.42 career ERA through 119.2 major-league innings wasn't appealing enough for another team to claim him, so he'll remain with the Brewers in an organizational depth role.

  • Brewers' Alec Asher: Designated for assignment

Asher was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Tuesday. Asher was cast off the team's 40-man roster in order to clear room for Jake Thompson, who was acquired from the Phillies on Tuesday. The 26-year-old tossed three scoreless innings for the Brewers, but he struggled to a 5.51 ERA across 85 innings with Triple-A Colorado Springs. He'll report back to the Sky Sox if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

  • Brewers' Alec Asher: Sent back to Triple-A

Asher was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday. Asher was up for four games and made his second appearance of the season, tossing a scoreless inning Thursday in Pittsburgh. He could be up again in a low-leverage role at some point in the second half.

  • Brewers' Alec Asher: Called up by Milwaukee

Asher was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday. Asher will provide reinforcements within the Brewers' bullpen as the club gears up for five games in four days. He's only appeared in one contest with the major-league team this season, so don't expect him to serve out of any high-leverage situations. Across 62.1 innings with Colorado Springs, he's logged a 4.62 ERA and 1.47 WHIP.

  • Brewers' Alec Asher: Shuttled back to minors

Asher was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Saturday. The Brewers will swap Asher out with a fresh bullpen arm (Jorge Lopez) after the 26-year-old tossed a pair of scoreless relief innings Saturday against the Rockies. He'll continue to serve as organizational pitching depth for the Brewers in the minors.

  • Brewers' Alec Asher: Returns to majors

The Brewers recalled Asher from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Saturday. Asher was designated for assignment by the Brewers on April 19 and then outrighted to Colorado Springs after clearing waivers. The 26-year-old started three games for Colorado Springs, allowing six runs (three earned) on 12 hits and four walks over 14 innings. Asher has a career 7.4 K/9 in the minors and doesn't have much fantasy appeal. He could serve in a long-relief role for the Brewers after the team used six relievers to cover seven innings during Friday's victory.

  • Brewers' Alec Asher: Heads to Milwaukee

Asher was claimed off waivers by the Brewers on Tuesday, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports. The right-hander was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers just 12 days earlier, but he'll head to Milwaukee now that the Dodgers deemed him unworthy of a 40-man roster spot. Asher has a good amount of big-league experience and allowed a single run in his first start with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, though it looks like he'll be nothing more than an organizational depth piece for the Brewers.

  • Orioles' Alec Asher: Sent to minors

Asher was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports. Asher will relocate to minor-league camp despite posting a 3.00 ERA over three Grapefruit League appearances (six innings). He'll serve as organizational pitching depth for the Orioles in 2018 after splitting time between Triple-A and the big club last season and notching an ERA north of 4.50 at both stops.

  • Orioles' Alec Asher: Recalled from Triple-A

Asher was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday. With Miguel Castro landing on the bereavement list, Asher was summoned back tot he big club to offer an extra bullpen arm. Asher has worked primarily as a starter since being sent back to the minors, so he'll offer length out of the Orioles' bullpen. He compiled a 5.53 ERA through 55.1 innings during multiple stints with the big club earlier in the season, so he'll likely stick to lower-leverage situations.

  • Orioles' Alec Asher: Takes loss against Nats

Asher (2-4) allowed five runs over four innings with six strikeouts and four walks Thursday in Baltimore's 6-0 loss to Washington. Prior to Thursday, Asher had only one poor outing in a starter's role, but his performance against the Nationals was pretty subpar. He came into the game with three quality starts, as the 25-year-old had been between various bullpen roles and spot starts all season before being recently inserted into the starting rotation. It will be interesting to see if the Orioles keep him there, while other potential options include Ubaldo Jimenez.

  • Orioles' Alec Asher: Tabbed as Thursday starter

Asher will make another start Thursday against the Nationals, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. Asher will stay in the rotation for at least another turn after his quality start victory over the Red Sox on Friday. He held Boston to three hits over 6.1 innings while fanning five batters and allowing zero walks. Despite his strong outing Friday, Asher has shown to be hittable in previous outings, as evidenced by his six-run drubbing at the hands of the Astros on May 28. He'll face a Nationals lineup that figures to be back to full strength with Bryce Harper nearing the end of his suspension.

  • Orioles' Alec Asher: Posts quality start Friday

Asher (2-3) allowed two runs on three hits while striking out five over 6.1 innings to earn the win Friday against the Red Sox. Asher had a 3-1 lead going into the seventh inning, but after giving up another run, the bullpen took over to close out the victory. After getting rocked in his last start, this outing will buy him more time in the rotation with Ubaldo Jimenez remaining relegated to the bullpen. For now, Asher remains a speculative add for fantasy owners, as his 3.62 ERA was mostly established through his work in the bullpen. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Nationals.

  • Orioles' Alec Asher: Remains in starting rotation

Asher will start Friday against the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. The 25-year-old Asher was knocked around for six runs in just two innings against Houston on Sunday, but Baltimore will not reverse course and return Ubaldo Jimenez to the rotation -- not yet anyway. Jimenez went six innings in relief of Asher and allowed just two runs on five hits with five strikeouts and zero walks. Another poor showing from Asher could result in the two players flip-flopping roles once again.
