  • Braves' Chasen Bradford: Joins Braves on MiLB deal

Bradford signed a minor-league contract with the Braves on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

The 31-year-old missed the entirety of last season while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, and he'll attempt a comeback with the Braves in 2021. Bradford last pitched for the Mariners in 2019, posting a 4.86 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 11:4 K:BB over 16.2 innings. He was a solid bullpen piece for Seattle the year prior with a 3.69 ERA in 46 outings.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Resumes throwing

Bradford (elbow) announced Tuesday via his personal Twitter account that he has resumed throwing bullpen sessions.

According to Bradford, Tuesday's workout marked the first time he's gotten back on a mound since undergoing Tommy John surgery last August. The right-hander was outrighted off Seattle's 40-man roster in October and isn't expected to return to competitive action until the 2021 season.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Heads to Triple-A

Bradford (elbow) was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Bradford underwent Tommy John surgery at the end of August, and he'll likely miss the 2020 season while rehabbing. Ryon Healy and Connor Sadzeck were also outrighted to Triple-A.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Undergoes Tommy John surgery

Bradford underwent Tommy John surgery last week, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Bradford has been on the injured list since June with a right elbow strain, but it was only recently determined that surgery was needed. He's set to miss the entire 2020 campaign.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Not yet throwing

Bradford (elbow) is feeling better according to manager Scott Servais, but he's yet to resume throwing, Sarah Wexler of MLB.com reports.

Bradford was shifted to the 60-day injured list June 23, and he won't be eligible for a return until early August. Therefore, the fact he's yet to pick up a baseball isn't necessarily a concern at this point, other than it underscores that his strain was significant. Bradford is likely in for a fairly extensive rehab assignment when he reaches that phase of his recovery, given that he last saw game action at the beginning of June.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Shifts to 60-day injured list

Bradford (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

Bradford had been out since early June with an elbow strain. He'll now be ineligible to return until early August. The move (along with Jesse Biddle being designated for assignment) clears space on the 40-man roster for the additions of Matt Carasiti and Mike Wright.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Could resume throwing this week

Bradford (elbow) should resume throwing soon, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Bradford first went on the injured list June 3 with what eventually was diagnosed as a Grade 1 right elbow strain. The Mariners have taken it slow with Bradford, who's been shut down from throwing since that point. The right-hander is still likely several weeks away from activation, as he'll presumably still need to progress to bullpen sessions and a minor-league rehab assignment before activation.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Remains shut down from throwing

Bradford (elbow) will remain shut down from throwing for at least another week, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

An early-week MRI revealed a Grade 1 flexor strain for Bradford, who officially went on the 10-day injured list as a result. Bradford is expected to be sidelined much longer, with Johns reporting that a one-month timeline appears to be the most realistic outlook at present.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Facing multi-week absence

Bradford was diagnosed with a Grade 1 right elbow strain after undergoing an MRI on Tuesday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

While it's positive news that Bradford's elbow strain is of the least severe degree, it's still expected that he'll remain on the shelf for multiple weeks while recovering from the injury. With a 4.86 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, no saves and one hold through 12 relief appearances this season, Bradford was already off the fantasy radar even in most AL-only leagues prior to getting hurt.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Sidelined with forearm strain

Bradford was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right forearm strain, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Bradford, who was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma over the weekend, made just two appearances with the Mariners before suffering the injury. While the severity of the issue is not yet known, forearm injuries are often the precursor of a more serious injury, so the Mariners figure to handle Bradford with care. As such, the right-hander figures to spend more than the 10-day minimum on the IL. Matt Festa was recalled from Tacoma in a corresponding move.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Heading to majors

Bradford was called up from Triple-A Tacoma by the Mariners on Friday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Bradford was optioned to Triple-A in early May but makes his return to Seattle after making a handful of appearances in the minors. The 29-year-old has a 4.61 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB over 13.2 innings at the major-league level this season.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Heading to Triple-A

Bradford was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Bradford has been up and down since coming off the injured list in late April, allowing four runs -- including three homers -- across his last 7.1 innings for Seattle. The 29-year-old has a 4.61 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB through 13.2 innings and could be a frequent traveler on the Tacoma shuttle all year.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Strong showing in return

Bradford (shoulder), who was activated from the injured list earlier in the day, fired a clean eighth inning in a loss to the Padres on Tuesday.

Bradford was sharp in his return, needing just 12 pitches to get through his one frame. The right-hander was on the shelf for two weeks with a case of shoulder inflammation, and he'll now slot back in as one of several middle-relief options for manager Scott Servais.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Back from IL

The Mariners activated Bradford (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Bradford missed only two weeks with a case of right shoulder inflammation and received the green light to rejoin the active roster without heading out on a rehab assignment beforehand. Manager Scott Servais didn't hesitate to use Bradford in high-leverage situations prior to the injury, but the right-hander probably ranks no higher than third in line for saves out of the Seattle bullpen behind Roenis Elias and Anthony Swarzak.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Could be activated Tuesday

Bradford (shoulder) could be activated next week during the series in San Diego, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

He threw well in a bullpen session Sunday morning, so it seems likely he will come off the injured list early next week. Roenis Elias and Anthony Swarzak have stabilized the back of the Mariners' bullpen, so Bradford should work in low-to-mid-leverage situations.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Begins throwing

Bradford (shoulder) has begun playing catch and could start throwing off the bullpen mound over the next few days, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Bradford's shoulder inflammation has apparently improved to the point that he's begun a throwing program, and it appears he may not be out for much longer than the mandatory 10-day period his injured-list stint requires.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Lands on IL

Bradford was placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

He gave up two runs in two innings of relief Monday, when the Mariners had to empty the bullpen following a one-inning start from Felix Hernandez (illness). Erik Swanson was summoned from Triple-A to provide some short-term bullpen help.

  • Mariners' Chasen Bradford: Earns first save

Bradford picked up the save in Sunday's 10-8 win over Boston. He recorded the final two outs -- including one strikeout -- and walked one.

Bradford notched the first save of his career in a wild contest. The 29-year-old likely won't see many save opportunities this season, but Seattle's bullpen has several injuries at the moment.
