Seth Mejias-Brean: Cut by Baltimore
The Orioles released Mejias-Brean on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Mejias-Brean appeared in 14 games as a September call-up for the Padres in his age-28 season back in 2019, but the minor-league journeyman hasn't sniffed the majors since. Given that he was still a serviceable performer between stops at Triple-A Norfolk and Double-A Bowie this season (.711 OPS in 64 games), Mejias- Brean should be able to land a minor-league deal with another organization, or perhaps find work overseas or in the independent ranks.

Padres' Seth Mejias-Brean: Joins roster pool
The Padres added Mejias-Brean to their 60-man roster pool Sunday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Mejias-Brean received the opportunity to make his MLB debut as a September callup last year, but he was booted off the 40-man roster during the offseason after slashing .233/.303/.500 across 33 plate appearances with the Padres. Since his addition to the roster pool won't include a spot on the Padres' 40-man roster, he'll still face an uphill battle in getting another look with the big club in 2020.
