The 2015 regular season ends in 11 days, and several teams have already been eliminated from postseason contention. Two of them? The Phillies and Marlins. They're both near the bottom of the overall MLB standings.

Both teams still have games to play however, so they can't just pack it up and head home for the winter. They're playing each other Wednesday night in Marlins Park (GameTracker) and, well, let's just say attendance is not great:

The good news? If you are attending the game, your odds of catching a foul ball (or a home run, I suppose) are pretty excellent. That's not meant as a joke. It's science. Look:

Those are pretty good odds, all things considered. I'd probably park myself down the first-base line, two sections in from the foul pole. That puts you in range for those big lefty bats trying to yank the ball down the line.

Anyway, I'm really not a fan of attendance shaming because the ire always seems to be misplaced. Some blame the fans for not supporting the team, others blame the front office for not putting together a contending club. At the end of the day, ownership is at fault. It starts at the top.

Despite their new ballpark, the Marlins have been sitting near the bottom of the league in attendance for years and years. It's not a coincidence they also have arguably the worst owner in sports in Jeffrey Loria.
